(In regards to pics, this is yet another show i cant screen myself. And well, theres not many pics online eitehr, so pardon them all being shitty and all just being pakistan-arc related.)

Yeah, another show i never really botehred with watching until recently. And yeah, another interesting show thats actually pretty good. Now, this one is definately a 'you have to be in the mood' type of show though, kind of like Kino's Journey or Eva.

Anyway its a pretty simple premise, Yugo is a, you guessed it, a negotiator from Japan. The show is 14 episodes in total and broken up into two 'arcs', the Pakistan arc - the first 7 episodes; and the Russia arc - the last 7 episodes.

"Season 1" or the first arc (its only 7 episodes per arc, so the first 7 episodes) takes place in Pakistan, where Yugo gets a job from a young japanese woman trying to free her father. Her dads been taken hostage by a Pakistani militia group and the military doesnt actually want him to be freed, so their negotiators are usually really shitty. Enter Yugo, who has to be sneaky on both sides, seeing as how the military would not condone his efforts. As the show progresses you get that mindset of not really knowing who the bad guys are, because you are basing it on your bias. The original militia becomes the good guys and the military is turned into the enemy, but it was the otehr way originally. Yugo does some crazy shit while being 'tested' (tortured to death) by the militia guys, including getting all the skin htat was touching the rock he was laying on all melted off thanks to like 120 degree heat constantly and taking his shirt off, acting like he was a chosen hero of Allah to trick them, and stabbing a knife right into his arm without even blinking.

The next arc is in Russia. Its basically the same shit, cept this time Yugo gets really fucked up, thanks to the enemy being the KGB this time around. He gets the shit beat out of him constantly, truth serum...-ed?, beaten up some more, mind-fucked, etc. But, as his badass self, none of it really effects him, or he gets over it really quick and just acts like he's still under their spell. Anyway, this time around he's trying to get a little Russian girl to emigrate to Japan where her only living family (an uncle who just wants the 2 BILLION dollars the father left to the daughter.) resides. She's probably the first anime loli, shes 12, that looks her age rather then like 5 years younger. Still kewt though, and russian at that!

Anyway, as for thoughts on it. The art is fitting of the style of the show and gives a more 'realistic' feeling than most anime do, plus they get the feel of pakistan and russia across pretty well through it as well. The music is uh, the opening is horrible, the ending is pretty bad too, but the music during the show ...wait, i dont think i even noticed it cuz i was too busy watching. But ill assume it was ok, lol.

The characters! Yugo Beppo is a badass who, even though if he did it would make things way easier, never kills a single person in the entire series. He fights with his mind rather then through physical means, and it ends up being a lot harder but probably the only reason he ever finishes his jobs without dying himself as well. He's overly intelligent and his abilities to fuck with peoples heads is amazing. He's a negotiator woh works to save people, and hell, in both arcs he buys himself a woman! What a pimp.

Yugo with the first ho he buys. Her tongue got cut out by her parents, so she cant talk, but shes a dancer and is all love-love over Yugo cuz he saved her.

Uh...his buddy dude who helps him out with his jobs sometimes from back in Japan, he basically sits around at the office and in the case of the first arc probably bangs the client. Other than that though he doesnt do much other then make the equipment yugo asks for and provide some hook-ups. In the russian arc he makes a near invincible to weather conditions GPS that even keeps working under -40 degree celcius temperatures.

Etc. Id go into more but, pretty much no other characters are in both arcs, lol.

Anyway, the show isnt an action or drama or something type series, its more of a thinking and suspense show. The show is, otehr then the obvious 'yugo isnt even here' scenes, seen as how he would see it. As in, for the most part, we know about the other people involved as much as Yugo does, so you get more engrossed into the story to try and figure out whats going on, whats gonna happen, and if Yugo can do it or not. In teh end its basically just watching Yugo screw with peoples heads, so it could very well be taken as a 'boring' show if you cant stand things that move slowly and dont have crazy shit going on. I mean it takes the guy 7 episodes to do something most anime he would do in an episode or two, because they go at a more realistic pace and cover all the bases that need to be instead of just getting the very minimum.

Basically its like this,
1. Get the job
2. Research
3. Research
4. Yugo gets tortured
5. Yugo gets tortured
6. Yugo manages to stop getting tortured one way or another and starts toying with peoples heads again
7. Finishes the negotiation

Now, they arnt JUST doing those things those episodes, but thats the majority of whats going on, that and always head fucking going on.

So basically, there isnt much to say about the show seeing as how saying just about anything would just be complete spoilers and in the end lead to really long summaries of it, which isnt the point here. But its definately an anime that makes you think and gets you interested, although it doesnt seem that way in the first episode of the first arc, which had me wanting to watch something else, lol. In the end i would have liked if it were a little longer, like instead of 14 episodes, the usual 26 with 2 more arcs in it.

Favorite scene, definately when Yugo is getting interrogated by the Russians the first time and he breaks loose from his chair all fucked up and drugged and unable to even walk straight. Cuz then he goes to the door, picks the lock, and opens it!

Whats there? A fucking concrete wall is on the other side, lmaoooo. Fucking Russians are great.

Anyway, the show isnt for everyone, especially not someone who coudlnt sit through other slow shows. So anyone who can handle stuff like this id recommend it to, its pretty good.
