Sorry for the lack of updates, though. I'm trying to find places to do forming and rotocasting in my area, since I have no real shop space. Until then, I've been doing some sculpting, but there hasn't been much urgency. I haven't posted pics of any of my progress because the pink foam I use doesn't really show any definition. All you'd see was a bunch of pictures of pink blobs until I get to teh finishing stage where I use Bondo and other glazing compounds to get the finished surface on. Your solutions sound pretty good for the interim, including the butchered TK cod. The boots of the original Commando were black Stormtrooper boots. I'm gonna be going with the exact original chelsea boots, and just not paint them white -- but they're about $200 a pair, and not everyone is as much a costuming lunatic as I am. You didn't mention chest or back or soft parts, though. What were your plans there? A TK bodysuit would be more accurate, as the Commando is form-fitting, not Scout-loose. Same with the gloves. The pouches are bigger, too. And the breastplate is neither TK nor TB in style. I like your idea of the SE-14R. I'm going to be using a Merr-Sonn Model 44 as my sidearm, because the pistol in the original illustration -- indistinct as it is -- clearly doesn't have a scope. I've also since revised my approach to the main weapon. I'll be using a DH-17 with an E-11's folding stock, and probably a different scope, but the details and description (blaster carbine) would seem to support that more than a regular blaster rifle. For securing the armour, take a look over at The Dented Helmet, in the Jango section, for how they secure their straps. But the original illustration shows the straps going around the outside of the leggings, so... So, yeah. Still cranking, but economic stress has real-life sort of dominating my life right now. I'd much rather be working on all my costuming stuff, but it's hard to focus and distract myself from money concerns. --Jonah
