The last person you want to hear from on EU costumes. lol I'm surprised no one's mentioned the original Spacetrooper design. No, not the ones from ANH -- those aren't Spacetroopers, they're Stormtroopers with extra oxygen. The first Spacetroopers were in -- wait for it -- West End Games' Star Wars role-playing game, in 1988. This version was a mini-spacecraft, essentially, with a normally-armoured Stormtrooper piloting it from inside. Something like an Elemental from Battletech. Here's a slightly later redrawing from another WEG supplement. Another similar, but uglier, version showed up in the Heir to the Empire Sourcebook, again from WEG. I don't know who came up with the lighter action ficure and HttE comic book versions, but they diverge rather far from the original premise. Natch. --Jonah
