^o)

After shameless lurking I thought it was high time to come out of the shadows (but what better place is there for a spec ops trooper to lurk?) and let you all know a bit about me and what I have been up to. My principle interest is anything in armor, pref stormy armor or varients. For about 6 months I have been Active over on the Garrison Tyranus boards (my local garrison) where I go by the name of "Raven".

(I choose the name "Raifer" for reason of it being my fave charecter in the film " The Wild Geese" which is all about a commando team in Africa... a darn good film all things considered ...but I digress.)

I am about 2/3rds of the way through a Black Scout build... Its not a full commando yet but will I hope evolve into one just as soon as a consensus is reached on what one actualy looks like :)

some of the Tyranus folks sugested I post my build over here. so I will...

the armor is standard scout fodder... which I primed then added about six coats of spray black (three mattcoat and three gloss coats) to. I am now using a high sheen gloss spay to slowly seal it all in.

I now have the armor mostly done but some work remains.

the flight suit is also sorted out and the boots done (thank god for the BSN scout boot tutorial!!!).

Gauntlets and a scout blaster are the last bits of kit I have still to buy and mod.
I do need "a bit" of help on some last touches to what I have done so far:

1. The Bucket is going well but... I am short of good pics of the helmet up close, I need some shots of legion approved buckets to see color and shape varients on fishhooks, rear bar markings, snout coloration and also the approved color of the elevator bolt flat faces on the visor mountings.

2. Tank topper.... color and variation pics

3. Tank side trims .... matt black on gloss black?

4. ribbed neck or balaclava? I am leaning toward ribbed neck but will bow to spec ops consensus.

(any help would be great)

;)

PS.... COULD A MOD MOVE THIS TO THE SHADOW SCOUT?COMMANDO COSTUME SECTION?

THANK YOU>

Props for a Haunt

Hey guys I've been busy since early September with projects for these guys:

Chamber Haunt

This year's work included Control Panels and Wall Panels of a sci-fi nature, plus some Armor pieces which mimic extra terrestrial / old world weirdness.

Here's a few pix of the control panels coming together:

Well it appears that I'm finally able to post here so here is a brief intro.

I've been reading up on armor for well over a year and just recently started on my TX. I've had it in a box for that long and could just never get the time to start on it until now. I'm looking forward to complteting it soon.

So far what I've got is a FX TX, working on changing the lid to something better. I've ordered a ATA pulled in black and I have a MRCE and a TE. I've been debating on which one to go with but I'll probably just do one of each and see which I like. The plan is to use the TX for my main trooper and work on a TK later.

Well that is about it, I have been posting alot over on the FISD and I look forward to checking in here often.

It looks like I'll have to figure out how to post some pictures here.

Later.................... ^o)

Now all I have to do is get together some 501st submission pictures this weekend.

First Troop!

Had my first troop the other day. Was a fundraiser at a local high school to raise money for needy kids (school clothes, supplies..ect). Great thing was is that it was in the school district I grew up in. So I just had to call in to work to make this troop.

The trooping part was actually pretty easy. Nowhere near the malfunctions I was expecting. Only had problems with my hand plates falling off and my thermal det came off and I couldn't get it back on. Both will be easy fixes. I did discover that I want to mod a few other things as well. Like fan placement so my lenses don't fog so easy.

My garrison mates are awesome! They were very helpful throughout the day. The other costumes were A jedi, an Imperial officer, Sandtrooper, Tie Pilot, BARC Trooper, and a Rep Commando in weathered black. All looked fantastic. They dubbed me the "Shiny Rookie", which I hear I'll carry until I do another costume, lol.

The troop itself was awesome. The kids couldn't get enough of us and I was hugged more today than I think I've ever been. Took lot's of pics with them. Even had a few mom's and older kids want some pics too.

It was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. This is definitely something I plan to do for a long time to come.

First few are of my OG mates. I'm the Shadow Stormy in the 2nd half. I was in another section of the HS while some of these were taken.

The Special Ops Patch

Ok, at the risk of sounding like an idiot, can someone please explain what the creature on the Spec Ops Patch is? :$

Is the creature a dragon? Serpent? What?

The patch also has a familiar symbol. It looks like the same symbol when a predator kills an alien. The preds carve it on their forehead.
