First would be a full set of glossy (not matte) red Stormtrooper armor. Shiny .090 ABS is what I've seen produced. Neck seal/Black UnderArmor/black boots and gloves (Jerseys from Wal-Mart work well, although I personally prefer leather). Good source for boots - They'll need to be painted red with leather paint or dye. http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?p=5012394...ariant_id=37473 Holster and blaster (E-11 or BFG) - Replica weapons can be bought off eBay or I use the RPF. I hate the Kenner/Hasbro blasters, but if detailed, they can look ok. Pauldrons are OPTIONAL (they simply show rank and I won't get into the whole 501st Sandy debate here). I wear an orange one on occaision, but only when I carry my BFG. We can tighten the specs as we get more members and debate topics, but I think this is a good starting point. The point of the Spec Ops Detachment is to be the best of the best, and thus, should hold ourselves to a higher standard when in public. |

If you want to get Red boots I purchased some from caboots.com by calling them up and paying $20 more to get them made in Red. They also took a little extra time, but was well worth it. Zach TR/TX-6078 NER |

I ordered my red Trooper boots from CA Boots, but they quoted a 12-14 week lead-time. The cost was $100/pr ($80 with $20 for special order). In the meantime, I ended up buying a pair of "Super-Hero" or Superman boots from a costuming site and cut them down a little to make them fit in the calf pieces. Not bad for $24, and the match is OK too. Good enough until my special order arrives from CA Boots. |

Sorry about not replying about the boots REDTROOPER. I totally forgot. My bad. Yes, it cost me $100 and quite a wait since it was a special project, but I thought it would be worth it. |

The SoCal SW groups got together for the FIDM prestentation of Star Wars: Dressing a Galaxy display in Los Angeles. FIDM invited everyone out for a series of Fan Days. Here's a pic of the 2nd Fan Day. Make sure you check out the guy on the far left top of the stairs representing the Spec Ops Det! That's me! ![]() Not to mention the mini ShockTrooper just right of center. His mom hand-made the armor! ![]() Thanks to Britt (BH1941) of the SoCal Garrison for these shots... |

Thanks Day/Night. The armor is actually cast in a translucent red ABS. Similar to the Black SpecOps armor in thickness. Strange how the black and red has a tendency to be a little "squeeky" when the pieces rub together as they are worn. Much more than my white TK armor, at least. Other guys have told me the same thing... |

Greetings fellow troopers, I'm new to the forums and I need assistance in where I can locate a pair of red boots within the next few weeks or so. My red armor should be here by next week. I have a brand new pair of Cheng trooper boots that I'm thinking of dying red. Has anyone attempted to do something of this nature? Is it even possible? Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
