If you're wondering what a Storm Commando is, here's the official Star Wars Databank entry... http://www.starwars.com/databank/organizat...mmandos/eu.html First would be a full set of glossy (not matte) black biker scout armor. Shiny .090 ABS is what I've seen produced. Neck seal/Black UnderArmor/black boots and gloves (Jerseys from Wal-Mart work well, although I personally prefer leather). Good source for boots (Check the Stealthtrooper specs as well) - They'll need to be naturally black. Thanks to Ekho! Holster and blaster (E-11 or Biker Pistol) - Replica weapons can be bought off eBay or I use the RPF. I hate the Kenner/Hasbro blasters, but if detailed, they can look ok. We can tighten the specs as we get more members and debate topics, but I think this is a good starting point. The point of the Spec Ops Detachment is to be the best of the best, and thus, should hold ourselves to a higher standard when in public. |

Hi there, TB5680 FL garrison here. I've been eyeballing the Storm Commando since I started collecting my scout suit to get into the 501st a few years ago. I'm a bit confused. Most of the research I've done on the StoComm shows that they are more like TK's than TB's. They are almost entirely covered in hard armor. Legs and forearms in something similiar to TK gear, and they have that wierd looking cog piece. Pretty much the only TB parts are the chest clamshell, bucket, and upper arms. However, most of the StoComm suits I see people wearing are basically stock TB suits in black with a few mods at most. Has anyone looked at the feasibility of combining TK/TB sets to get the full armor, legs and all? http://insd.swcombine.com/insd/itstorm.htm http://www.rancorpit.com/StormCommando.shtml These are the two best images I've found. Mostly, these are the only two images I've found, but they show the full armor. |

For the most part, alot of troopers have just been doing the black biker. The other armor pieces seem to be different than a TK. The forearms for instance, are rounded and smooth, which is different than a TK. Check out my pics to see the variant I did. I found that it blends the best of both worlds and looks sweet! (If I do say so myself.) :-) Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of reference pics out there. I would say that if you want to try combining the biker and TK, go for it. I would like to see pics when you have finished it. |

Okay, nobody on the Florida boards can (or is willing) to help me get the info I'm looking for. If anyone knows of a supplier that I can contact about getting the parts I need to make this in black ABS, please contact me. PLEASE DO NOT PUBLICLY POST SUPPLIER INFO Email me personally at temporary159@yahoo.com, PM me on this forum, or PM "SolidSlug" on the Florida forum (www.fl501st.com). Thanks for any and all help. |

Hehe. As soon as I saw them, I pulled mine out - and sure enough they are almost the same. You can pick up vac'd sets cheap.

You've been PM'd. I can't post armorers in the public forum, and to be quite honest, I don't know if he's making it anymore. |

Got the PM, just didn't realize it was there when I made that last post (oops
). Taken care of. With some dedicated searching on my part, the scout parts have been taken care of, as well as the vader shins. At this point, I just need direction to someone who could help me with the last few miscellaneous pieces of TK parts that will go to make this set complete.

In my experience, it's REALLY hard to get replacement parts from makers without pulling a big favor. When parts to my Stealth were stolen after a troop, it took me almost 9 months to find someone willing or able to pull them for me. Might want to try posting which parts you need in the Buy/Sell thread (rather than here in the costume specs thread) and I can see if I can pull a favor to get you parts you need. No promises, but it's worth a shot. |

The only person I knew who was pulling black abs (where I got my black scout armor from) has decided to stop making armor. (from what I heard.) I am not sure about others. I will have to ask around and see if I can find anything for you. The vader shins would definately work. I hadn't thought of using those. Hmmm...might have to look into that in case the shins I have break. |

The only place I could find that did vader shins, and I kind of hate to admit it, is Vaderpainter. ::sigh::
I know, I feel like a traitor. He's only getting $35 of my money if I do end up buying his, so it's not that bad.
