Does anyone have website links or reference pics to this costume? I hope so, because there is a movement to remove all costumes that do not have adequate reference pics and links to websites with pics. Thanks |

Taken from WikiPedia: Magma Trooper From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki. (Redirected from Magmatrooper) Magma troopers, or red troopers, were a specialized division of Imperial stormtroopers. They are responsible for quelling revolts and other actions on volcanic mining planets such as Mustafar and Dankayo. |

I swear I had pics from one of the EU comics at one time, but the fact that it's in the Star Wars Databank as a red stormtrooper pretty much makes it so. But still look for an official pic or comic render... |

Found the pictorial evidence from the Marvel Comics. The Magma Trooper is also known as Lady Lumiya's Troopers... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Lum1.gif Backstory on Lumiya: http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/lumiya/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumiya http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lumiya |

Can anyone tell me where did the pic of Lumiya and the magma troopers came from? I have all 107 Marvel comics but I can't find it. If you can give me the issue number I can post some more pictures. |

The old Marvel Comics (they are getting reprinted now), issues 60-61, 63, 88, 95, 96, 100 and on. "Lumiya: Dark Star of the Empire", a West End Games supplement published in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine #3. |

I saw the reference in Wiki COS, but I checked those Marvel issues, page by page, and found no pic of the magma trooper. Maybe they are in the supplement |

It may be in the supplement. The official pic on the StarWars.com databank has just the shin of the trooper visible in the Wiki picture, but it's the same pic. |

Is there a better pix of the helmet? Is it supposed to be unique, or the same as a TK? |

The Marvel comics that had Lumiya didn't have her with any special Stormtroopers, and the short story in SWG#3 only described them as "red Stormtroopers", not Magma Troopers, which leaves it open to interpretation. Follow-on materials say that Isard loaned them to Lumiya for that action, which I have no problem with -- but says also that they were Royal Guards in red Stormtrooper armour, which I do have a problem with. There's enough material out there saying the Guards rotate into active Stormtrooper combat units to keep their fighting skills sharp, but there's no fanfare about it -- they wear ordinary Stormtrooper armour, or variants as appropriate to the terrain (like Snowtrooper armour) to blend in invisibly. I'd be just as inclined to say they were Stormtroopers with red armour to denote their attachment to the office of the Director of Imperial Intelligence, who herself wore a red uniform. But I personally don't think I've ever actually seen an actual Magma Trooper. They were referenced, but never seen in the Visual Dictionary, Databank, and many listings of Stormtrooper variants that parrot those sources. I would imagine that, like Sandtroopers, they have something additional or altered to enhance the armour's survivability on volcanic planets beyond just painting the armour red. --Jonah |
