There's a few in ANH in TK armor with a breather pack when the Falcon is tractored into the Death Star. Check out this thread on the RPF...

And this awesome archive pic found by PhasePistol:

Well the ANH version will probably be moving to another Detachment when we iron out the details. The EU version(s) will presumably stay here.

The Legion refrains from building costumes based on action figures, but seeing that a lot of folks emulated the 501st Legion Trooper with stickers on their armor, I guess they're not totally opposed to it.

But always remember the 3 references rule.

We have 3 but they're all different!
No way to build an armor from those

Ah, but the soon to be released Making of Star Wars (ANH) book is soon to be released and may have some better pics. Never give up hope. :)

That's pretty similar to the one in the StarWars.com databank, but it looks robotic to me.

Very cool find and it looks like it'd be an awesome costume if someone took it up.

How it looks to me from especially the behind the scenes picture is that what we see in ANH is not a space trooper at all. It's simply a TK with an alternative backpack(s) rig.

The space trooper as shown in the illustrations & figure is a completely different beast.

Perhaps it's best to separate what was seen in ANH from what a space trooper is?

Well, because we're the EU Trooper Detachment, we'll probably be surrendering the ANH Space Trooper to one of the other Dets. But that still leaves us home to the several EU varients that exist out there.

In fact I think just as TK 8020, those "supposed to be" space troopers from ANH looks just as regular TKs. Tha space trooper from the Thrawn Trilogy seems to me to be the "real" space trooper.

I'd have to agree with crazas. Wouldn't this costume require the person to make the armor massive since it's sort of life a robot that you control from the inside? It seems like it's proportions are different from those of a normal human too. Maybe this doesn't matter but I always pictured the space trooper as being massive.

It may yet be do-able depending on how much leeway is granted. If you look at the Republic Commando costume it's also pretty massive, esp. if you go by the book covers, yet it's being made by two different teams and should win 501st approval for acceptance.

That said, it's pretty huge and a smaller guy would swim in it. Heck, even at 6'0 180lbs I'm told I'll be too small.

Yep. Me again. The last person you want to hear from on EU costumes. *lol* I'm surprised no one's mentioned the original Spacetrooper design. No, not the ones from ANH -- those aren't Spacetroopers, they're Stormtroopers with extra oxygen. The first Spacetroopers were in -- wait for it -- West End Games' Star Wars role-playing game, in 1988. This version was a mini-spacecraft, essentially, with a normally-armoured Stormtrooper piloting it from inside. Something like an Elemental from Battletech. Here's a slightly later redrawing from another WEG supplement. Another similar, but uglier, version showed up in the Heir to the Empire Sourcebook, again from WEG. I don't know who came up with the lighter action ficure and HttE comic book versions, but they diverge rather far from the original premise. Natch. ;)

Greetings I'm a bit of a noob in posting to the TX forums however I have been watching them for some time... As far as I know no one has EVER built one of these suits. I hope to change that soon.

I have been talking to a couple of close friends of mine who are interested in building not one but two Zero-G Assault Suits. We are in the design stages of this project now. I will do my best to document as much as possible in terms of materials, cost and construction as I go along. I have seen a couple of the Power Loaders from the Aliens movie show up as costumes. If they can build those.. I can build the Zero G Suit. Of course alot of it will be open to interpretation of the pictures we have.. however I plan to keep it as close to EU canon as possible.

Wish Me Luck and Enjoy!
