Here is the rough draft for the Swamptrooper Costume Specs. There will be more to follow when I get back home and have a chance to go hands on with this. Swamptrooper Costume Specs. There are two versions to this costume, the one from Star Wars Galaxies, and the one from Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Version one: This version is basically a Biker Scout that has been painted Olive Drab or a camouflage pattern done in drab green tones. The same requirements remain for this as for the Biker scout but in OD or camo. Version two: The specs for this costume will be determined at a later date. There will definatly be more to follow later. |

I have no team of other costumers to help me with Seatroopers, since I think I'm still the only one around. The pics in the old role-playing book were white armor, but I stayed away from that cause idiots would see a 'weird looking biker scout' if they looked at my suit and probably make dumb comments at me. I originally was going to paint it black (because I've seen all black armored Stormtroopers and Biker Scouts and thought they look cool) but then a Garrison buddy said I should paint it a midnight blue because that would look nice with the black undersuit and wouldn't wash out all the details like if I went with an all black suit. I guess as long as you have some sort of SCUBA type tank on your back, and hoses off the cheeks of the helmet over your shoulders, and swim fins hanging off your Biker Scout type costume, you can be considered a Seatrooper, right? Maybe, maybe not. That original picture also had modified shin armor that's not seen anywhere else, Snowtrooper knees, and a codpiece on front and back and no Biker cumberbun. I did my own mods to the suit, like the dive knife I bought that had a "sci-fi" looking handle (diver's always have some sort of knife with them), and the neon blue tubing, to accent the face with that "underwater glow" effect. The original pic had some sort of lamp built in the helmet above the visor, but the neon tubing looks way cooler and still covers the same idea the original artist had. I also have a muscle type undershirt (from my Spider-Man days) to make the open abdominal area have some detail because there's no normal Biker Scout "diaper" covering that area. Now, there's other mods I could have done to make it accurately detailed to the original pic that I left of for ease of assembling this costume. The tanks have some kind of framework around them....I just installed them right onto a modified Scout backplate.....the chest armor has those indents on each pectoral area.....I didn't want to spend the time to rework my Scout chestplate, though I did cut the chest and back necklines with straight V's to match the pic instead of the rounded shape of the Scout armor necklines.....the drop boxes are a little different.....I just used normal Scout ones. See? It's laziness. |

We need to get done with these. Mods, please have your costume defined using the following example template: SANDTROOPER A Sandtrooper must have the following: - White Sandtrooper (or modified Stormtrooper) armor, made in ABS, HIPS, or Fiberglass. - Black Gloves - Black undersuit, either one-piece or two piece. Non-textured material. Commonly used items include “UnderArmor” or “Starter” warm-up suits, or dance unitards. - White, ankle high, laceless, Stormtrooper boots. The boots are usually made from Leather, or Vinyl, with small U-shaped elastic sections on either side of the ankle, and an approx. 1” heel. - Desert Backpack, styled after the ANH sandtrooper packs. They are comprised of two main boxes, that are the approximate width of the backplate. The boxes are adorned with various smaller boxes, and canisters. - Dirt, accomplished by a number of painting techniques. Most common & accurate being a multi-layer treatment of either tempera, or matte acrylic paint, followed by one or more layers of fuller’s earth. Other methods include, but are not limited to; Spray paint & sanding (usually multi-layered), application of sand or actual dirt in place of “Fuller’s earth”. - Pauldron (Black, Orange, or White) Made from vinyl or leather. - Black Leather, Vinyl, or Canvas Ammunition Pouches (MP40, MP38, or similarly styled) Worn on the left shoulder, and also on the belt. - Flat rectangular detail, with smaller horizontally oriented rectangle centered on width, and towards the top of the larger rectangle, on abdominal plate. (On stormtroopers this is the “buttons & ridges” part) - Diamond Knee plate. Six sided (hexagon) mounted onto a five-sided “diamond” shape, with a point on the bottom. This plate is located on the wearer’s left knee, attached to the shin part of the armor. - Flat green helmet lenses, made from lighting gel material, or green welder’s mask face shield. - BFG. MG34 (DLT19), Lewis Gun (T21), or MG15 (unnamed in SW galaxy). These weapons may be scratch-built, resin cast, hyperfirm rubber cast, vaccum-formed, or real demilitarized guns. Approved Options (none listed) A Sandtrooper should have the following: (These are recommended, but not required) - No thermal detonator. - Canvas belt. - E11 blaster, scratch-built, resin cast, hyperfirm rubber cast, or modified toy blaster. - No “drop boxes” (small rectangular parts attached to stormtrooper’s belts, above the thigh) - No black lines in grey teardrops or vents of helmet. - No ribbed shoulder straps. (Sandtrooper chest and back are attached from within via soft straps, and do not have the plastic ribbed straps like stormtroopers) - Four “teeth” cut out on either side of helmet “frown”. A Sandtrooper may have the following: (These are optional. They are accepted, but not required) - Dewback Prod. The prod is a black pole, approx 96” long, with metal details at both ends. (Many opt for a shorter length, for logistical reasons) - “Dimpled” handbacks. Dimpled Handbacks are worn by several troops in ANH, and are approximately rectangular, and have a pattern of “pill-shaped” indentations. - Grey Pauldron. - E11 holster. (Sandtroopers did not use E11 holsters in ANH) - Macrobinoculars. Styled after those used in the Special Edition. The following costume modifications are encouraged: - Hinged cod piece. - ANH styled helmet. - Helmet CPU fans. - Voice amplifier and/or voice changer. - Black Hovi-Mix cast “tusks” I think two weeks is more than enough time to get these done and I'm personally embarrassed that we have NONE submitted, so please post the specs in your costume section so I can upchannel them to the LMO. Kev, I know a few of the subforums posted sample inputs based on the template. We have 2 for Shadowtrooper. Is there an issue that we are not consistent with a new format. Am I supposed to upchannel the specs directly (I assumed [cough, burden shift] that the Det leader would ;)). That said, I would appreciate interested parties to take a gander at the shadowtrooper specs (2). Tim |

Full Armor Storm Commando Thu Feb 08, 2007 10:17 pm quote edit http://www.garrisonexcelsior.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1327 In addition to the games and books featuring Storm Commandoes [Imperial Infiltrators] I am also referncing these websites: http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/StormCommando.html http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Storm_commando http://www.starwars.com/databank/organizat...mmandos/eu.html http://www.starwars.com/databank/organizat...stormcommandos/ http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/ In addition to the full Stealth Scout kit, I'm adding Black ARC Trooper arms and legs, the closest match to the most detailed sketches. Not Shiny. BTW, what are the results [if any] for the Storm Commando guidelines? |

Nope. We all have to approve the specs as a Det, then I'll upchannel them to the LMO. I'll be in a better place to look them all over once the Legion elections are over. Be patient for a few more days. |
