I just wanted to solicit some thoughts on the way I am going at my commando project. I have read the standards lists and decided to get as close as possible to the second variation (not the black TB). I have been talking to Jeff and determined that with some tweaking, the TK parts (thighs, groin, forearms, biceps) could be used with the torso, shoulders, and possibly knees of the TB to get this trooper. It leaves a couple of questions in my mind, but I put in for it anyway, as the questions involve more add-on than take-off issues. Please let me know what you guys think. |

From what I have been able to determine, this costume appears to be a hybrid of mostly TK and TB, with a bit of Vader. Here is how I see it: Biker Scout bucket TB chest, back armor w/hump TB shoulder bells and biscep armor TK forearm armor pieces TB cumberbun Appears to be a TK codpiece attached to a dual holster belt sling, with TB-style buckle. (No TB hip boxes) Possible upper leg TK armor. I've seen concept pics that indicate this character may or may not have the armor on the upper legs. Definitely the TB knee armor Vader's Shin guard armor Obviously gloves of a guantlet style. I recently chatted with a fellow who used his Tie Pilot gloves, jumpsuit and boots for this costume. Black jumpsuit And some sort of armored spats to cover the top of the boots... see link below. here is a concept pic that I am very seriously considering following as close as possible: http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/StormCommando.gif |

I disagree on the TK parts. The stuff on the SC pics forearms and thighs is smooth, no ribs, no ridges, no bumps. This is the pic I intent to get close to ... |

To illustrate my point. TK Arms vs Black CS Arms ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TK thighs vs Black SC Thighs ![]() ![]() As you can now clearly see, the Storm Commando armour is smooth across the vambrace and thigh armour surfaces, totally devoid of any of the seams, ridges and bumps found on all TK vambrace and thigh armour. The only possible seam is along the inside of the CS armour, where there is also a latch os some sort (also not seen on TK armour) You'll also notice that the groin armour is much narrower on the Storm Commando than on the TK, so TK groin armour isn't really ideal. |

This picture suggests that the thigh armor might just cover the front of the leg and be strapped around the back |

If you look closely at the WEG Picture above your comic pic you can make out that the thigh armour there is also strapped on as well. I would think that the thigh armour is optional depending on the mission. Being as they are Spec Ops Troopers their gear would be Mission specific as well as weapons. I prefer the Biker look, but with the soft biker boots and the thigh armour. Even tually I will start on my own suits of Armour but for now, school comes first and becoming a Paramedic takes time and money. I will get bits and peices as can be afforded, hten eventually have pics of my whole suit up. |

Yep, REAL life should always take priority over a hobby! Even one as cool as this one.
And yes this is a hobby although it can also be a lifestyle. |

Of course real life take first place and Family second then hobbies. I am looking into purchasing a new Bucket to get started with. Actually two buckets for now as I need to do my BS and SC armour. |
