Just use Goop. I use automotive Goop (as was suggested by one of my soon-to-be Garrison Members) and it works like a charm. |

I've used the plastic weld you can get at Wal-Mart and if you put it on thin, it doesn't warp the plastic. Some TD's use hightemp hotglue for their harness straps, and while I was skeptical at first, I used it on my TK at the Rose Parade and the harness was solid (and is to this day). The cool thing is it's removable if you ever want to move the straps. |

I have no idea what 'Goop' is - I'm in the UK so it may have another brand name. Plastic weld doesn't sound like a bad idea, although I'll pass on the hotglue, I've had bad experiences with it in the past. I would have posted thigh armour pics by now - only I lost my wok-o-doom - the wok I use to cook my sintra. I'll have more progress when I replace it at the weekend. (And once I've replaced it - you just KNOW I'm gonna find it anyway) |

"goop" is a really thick gel like glue that hardens like silicone. I could send you some, but not sure it would get through customs... |

Or, ask them if you can get it in the UK.

Well, I finally got around to making the thigh armour. They're not painted, but they're formed. (The process is in the sintra thread, posted there so people could see how I work the plastic)

I can't wait to see your armor man I bet it will look nice. I am currently working to get one as well. Its nearly completed armor that I will be putting together. All I need is the boots, weapons, jumpsuit, and gloves. Hopfully that is what I will be getting all for my armor aside from the fan system, pauldron, and speaker system, |

I have temporarily put this armour on hold as: a) it's staken spec ops ages to work out the format required for the armour, and Im not going to waste time, effort and money on something that's gonna be changed later. b) I disagree with two components (lastI checked) of the current 'elite' version: The thigh armour, and the hand armour. Oh and the pistol! That said I was basing my costume of the original storm commando as presented in the GDW books. |

Hi Rob, nice to see the way your SC is coming on, as I've mentioned before I probably intend to follow your version. These costumes always look better when there are a few identical ones. I have a couple of questions, forgive me if these have been asked and answered before. If the SC is mainly covered in armour, would underarmour, like Stormtroopers wear, be a better option than the slightly baggy flight suits worn by Biker Scouts? Would it allow the armour to be more form fitting? Would a Biker Scout belt set up work and help in securing the thigh armour? I haven't studied the refs as much as you, so sorry if I'm talking bull. |
