Just in case you missed it at the Legion board... I was thinking of an inexpensive 501st group project that we could do at this year's San Diego ComicCon for two of our greatest supporters from LFL, Steve Sansweet and Mary Franklin. They regularly go out of their way for us and I think it'd be cool to present them with a nice, personalized "Thank You" gift. The idea is this: Take a 4"x6" picture of you (and your family perhaps) showing off your 501st costume, and write a personalized message on the back of it to Steve or Mary (or both) thanking them for their support of the 501st Legion. Then mail it to us and we'll put them all together in a nice photo album (one for Steve and one for Mary). Cris from the Southern California Garrison will then present the finished albums personally at the 501st Dinner at SDCC. We'll be sure to take plenty of pics! I'll be collecting the photos, so if you'd like to participate in this project, mail your picture(s) to: Kevin Christley (TX-1422) 4182 Sandberg Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80911 Thanks in advance if you'd like to help out. It takes just a moment of your time, a stamp, and a photo and will make them very happy - they love to show off their 501st plaques, so this should be a very cool thing to do. I'll be happy to answer any questions or comments you have. |
