One could always go the quick and easy path and just get a standard tk armor set and have it painted red....... professional quality, like an automotive paint shop or something like that.

Like I said, it is a the quick and easy path. You's probably get some boo's for even contemplating the idea. But hey, it is an idea, after all....

... plus if you were to take your armor to a paint and body shop, you could actually change the red color tone a bit if you like. You could make it a darker or deeper blood red, and I doubt you would get any boos after everyone sees the finished product. It could be just the photo, but that red armor has an almost orange hue to it, not that it looks bad, but you would certainly be able to appreciate the subtle difference a professional paint job would make.

When I painted my armor white TK, I went with Krylon spray paint. ***Ducks as he hears things being thrown at him from behind.*** I looked for years for Red TX armor on ebay, and from those in the legion. I just couldnt find any for sale. I do find that in some pictures my armor has an orange hue, but I also find the armor rubs against itself leaving repainting demands. The spray paint makes fixes easy. It may not be dont perfectly, but the kids enjoy it none the less when they see it. Most importantly I would suggest to find something you like!!!

Painting will have alot of wear and tear over and over, you're better off paying a little extra and requesting a dealer buy red ABS to pull your armor.

I think it is the flash.

My red is about as red as red can be, although it looks different under different lighting schemes.

I really dislike recasts. The red PolyEthylene helmet has a number of bad recasting indicators on it.

Recaster?, haha, that's pretty funny, obviously you don't know who TE is. The indicators I believe you're referring to are the indicators that this is in fact a TE2 cast. I suggest taking a look at sites like starwarshelmets.com under the fanmade stormtrooper section, there's a family tree that diagrams the lineage of these molds.

You might wan't to also check out whitearmor.net and mepd.net and do some some searches, I believe all your questions regarding casting issues will be answered there.

If you guys are wanting to get an accurate set of armor, sorry to say this may be your only option. Btw, I picked up my armor from TE himself years ago, and can say it blows away any FX kit you can get, and is well worth the money.

I have an updated version of that family tree I did for the RPF. I'll post it when I find it.
