The indicators I believe you're referring to are the indicators that this is in fact a TE2 cast. I suggest taking a look at sites like starwarshelmets.com under the fanmade stormtrooper section, there's a family tree that diagrams the lineage of these molds. I believe all your questions regarding casting issues will be answered there. What I'm saying is that the red helmet is probably a cast from another helmet. Trust me when I tell you that I know about TE. Also GF. Also AA or SDS. The undefined teeth, the fill marks around the dome and the chin area are indicators that this has been cast from another helmet, regardless of whose helmet it was.
