What hose are you using? Is it the pool hosing that the scouts use only painted black or are you using a different hose all together? I am curious because I need to get the hose and I am trying to figure out what to buy.

The hose I used is kinda like this one: 'click here'

This one is at Lowes hardware but you could probably get it from anywhere. The store I went to had it where you could buy it at any length.

Cool thanks. So you just paint it black huh. Any worries about the paint cracking since the hose can flex?

I got a 3/4 inch diameter black hoses from Radio Shack, the ones used to put cables together and hide them. I think they are too thin but not sure.

I tried to rough mine up with sand paper a little then primered it in dark gray then painted it in black. I'm sure over time the paint will wear off but then I will just repaint it. As far as flexing, the hose is pretty sturdy and doesn't move around at all. It will wear off from getting bumped around before anything else. I almost left it in original color because it was black with blue raised ribs.

And I think the 3/4" size is a little too small.

BTW, The caps I got from KS were way too big so I got some caps from my local hardware store and sanded and painted them too.

yep 3/4 is a little to small, I think they can work for Tie Pilot helmet hoses (maybe)

I was going to say that the hosing looks just like the stuff I used for my TIE PILOT. I got some pond hosing from Home Depot... the beauty of it is that it is already ribbed and black. No need for painting!

Those gloves look spot on for the Biker Scout. For the Storm Commando I, myself, was planning using All Things Renaissance (go to gloves link and scroll down to the $20 gloves pictured) gloves for the costume. Either these or perhaps some black nomex gloves like Anchortex Corp..
