Heh heh, i actually might be taking advantage of this costume here soon. I jsut finished my TK, and i got pouches, aand a pauldron, and i mioght be getting the BFG soon as well, but i want to keep the armor clean for troops with our local Vader. Cleanies jsut seem to look better next to a vader, but the extra toys are so cool! lol. |

I found additional references for it on the Dark Horse site. I'll post what I found later this weekend. No backpack, just a clean TK with pauldrons, pouches, and regular weapons. |

I was thinking of trying to figure out how to make "temp weathering" Like removeable stickers or something that could make a cleany dirty, probably would look tacky and peel off in the middle of a troop though |

But seriously. I bought an Vespa from a movie prop company that had been painted for a Jamaican film. It was supposed to look like it had been driven around the island for 50 years with no service. under the rusty paint it was a new bike with only 23 miles on it. they used a raw sienna guache paint and a silver paint pen to make it look weathered. it took 7 washes but I finally got it all off. Raw Sienna looks pretty dirty on plastic parts and will come off in a shower I don't recommend the paint pen though. After you paint it I suggest trooping to the swimming pool to see how that works to remove it. Dive in with the full gear. he he he. |

Yeah, we should go by "The Outcasts". Honestly, the LMO has put them under us because the TD Det and TK Det doesn't seem to want them, but there are clean TDs without packs in ANH (but it was a big debacle in proving it). But they have a home here. Clean TK with pauldron and heavy weapon otherwise following the TD standard (except NO dirt). Pack or no pack is accepted, but you MUST have pouches. Temp weathering can be done with Fuller's Earth and water. Spray with water then dust with fuller's earth. But then you're in TD territory, not HWT compatible. |

What I love about the Star Wars universe is the fact that there is always a new character popping up that is ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS fascinating. I didn't even know that the Heavy Weapons Trooper existed but after reading this, I'm glad to see that the Empire's soldiers spanned every aspect of military personnel imaginable. Personally, it does look like the clean version of the TD and I am surprised that no one would give them a home! I mean outcasts we may be but it's not everyday that someone sees a black Stormtrooper or a black Biker Scout and in this case, a clean Sandtrooper! Custom costumes are sweet, I love the detachment, and I'm glad to see new costumes being added! end rant. |

I'm currently in discussions with the FISD to transfer this costume to them, should they choose to accept it. In essence, a HWT is basically a TK with specific TD accessories - missing that all essential dirt, knee plate & ab plate mods, yet retaining the TK drop boxes. They do wear pauldrons, ammo packs, and sometimes backpacks. There is a beta CRL entry, but it's off from what I submitted (mirroring the MEPD TD specs, but clean, which is not the case accuracy-wise). Things will all get sorted out once the LMO is ratified (Thomas Spanos) and he returns from vacation March 10th. Kev |
