Just in case anyone is interested, I am ordering fabric tomorrow to do the prototype for a Trooper Suit. It will contain the following features: Pattern actually cut to wearers measurements. Choice of Heavy Duty Spandex Material or Dri-Tek. Both foot and hand stirrups. 1 or 2 chest pockets. One for wallet and one for Speaker amps. Sizes would be optional depending on amp size. Abrasion panels in crotch area to prevent cod armor from rubbing through. Full length double ended zipper or 2 zippers in front seam. Opens from top for entry or bottom for "relief" purposes. Neck Seal would be included and made from fully washable materials and would attach to neck via velcro tabs or snaps. (No more neck seal "blowouts"). No collar on suit can also be an option if you want to continue to use your present dickey style neck seal. Velcro patches or snaps on top of shoulders to connect shoulder bell straps to (if desired). If there are any additional features that you think would make trooping more enjoyable, please feel free to send them my way. I welcome all input. |

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Radioshack Amp, Newton Amp, etc...but for troopers who dont have aerator speakers, they usually have to mount these speaker setups on the armor itself either in the helmet or underneath the chest piece.. I thought it would be a great feature to have a pocket on the bodysuit big enough (and strong enough) to hold one of these small amps, and possibly keep it in place with a velcro closure! |

I use some industrial velcro to place my RS amplifier in the inner side of the chest plate, but as Tim posted, a pocket will be GREAT!! |

Actually I am very familiar with the amps. I am looking at a chest pocket for wallet or keys and it would be very easy to do another pocket for the amps. Thanx very much for the suggestion. I will certainly place it on the list.

What would be the approximate cost for one of these suits? |

Great question! and I wish I had an answer right now but I dont. As stated, I am ordering the Dri-Tek (underarmor style moisture wicking type material) tomorrow and once I get it together I will be able to work up the cost. This, however, is not a big money making thing. I am trying to get something out there that will last awhile for troopers that otherwise may not be able to afford something like this. I will ask a price that will cover the cost of materials and shipping and add maybe a very small profit for my time but it wont be much. I will update with cost once the prototype is completed. Thanx.

definitely a little something for your profit, putting that much time into something like that is worthy. If i can afford it write me down for one, i'm getting some TK armor very very soon and will need a good suit

I got the fabric in last night for the Trooper Suit prototype. I should hopefully have it constructed this weekend and have pics posted next week. |
