Finally finished off the Shadow Scout (if that's what we're calling it, not sure how that argument ever turned out
)My first "raw" kit and first build from same (with the exception of the helmet and cummberbund - got those from KS). Took my time and had some help from both my NER buds and some guys at Carida. I made the boots from the tutorial on BSN. Let me know what you think, am I TX ready? ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a link to my photobucket account... there are pics from the complete build as well as albums for my other costumes and stuff. (the Shadow Scout pics have some armor malfunctions and my wife didn't bother telling me  ) http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/aa207/b...Shadow%20Scout/ |

Dude... the costume looks awesome. I have put my project on the shelf for awhile. I have other projects I need to finish first and some are on a time line. The only thing I have as a bit of a critique is that the cumberbun pockets seem like they are spaced way too wide. They should still be on the front, not all the way off to your sides. Not a negative slant toward your hard work, just a suggestion to make it even better. You've done an excellent job, bro! - Bill |

Yes, you are right about the pockets. I bought the cummberbund from KS (got a white one too for the regular TB). For some reason the pockets are a little too big and off to the side on both. I think I may have measured incorrectly or something, and I plan on having someone help me take them off and resew them closer to the middle. I appreciate the critiques, that's partly why I post stuff up. I'm not real happy with how the chest and back parts lined up, I tried to make them flush but had some difficulty, and ended up with a lot of space. My regular TB is finished armor kit from MLC and is waaaaay nicer fitting, but this one was made by me so it's more fulfilling, LOL. Thanks

Wow! That's gonna look really great in person! Kudos on a great build. Once the pouches are adjusted, you're ready to roll. Kev DL |

Thanks guys.
During this build I bought a small sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. I have basic skills for sewing straps and elastic and stuff like that but actually adjusting and connecting pouches on the cummberbund is too advanced for me right now. My mom is an excellent sewer but she needs new glasses and is recoving from a hip injury, so she said she'll help me just gotta get her to the eye doctor, LOL...

Hey Bro! Great job on the TX.
And yes, yours is a Shadow Scout as opposed to the Storm Commando.

Great Build Bro! I'm glad you pulled it off so well - can't wait to see it in person :ph43r: those scratch built kits are tough! |

Thanks dude, you had the same kit and I saw it at WSMI... you definately did a better job than me, LOL, but for my level of skill I'm very happy with myself. Bunch of us at the NER just pulled Snowtrooper armor so we'll see how much experience will play in my next build

Hey, N.B.
One thing you may want to consider is figuring out where the pouches should be located and sewing velcro at that position, with the other side of the velcro on the hang-flap of the pouch, so you can take them off and reposition them as needed...
Looks wonderful. --Jonah |

Wow, thanks I hadn't thought about that! All these critiques and replies are just what I'm looking for, thanks. My sewing skills are fine for doing the velcro thing and I can pull stitches out no problem so that might be the way to go

Thanks She's doing okay, she is in her 70's and can care for herself but does better under my supervision so she lives with me and my wife and we watch over her.
