Southern California Garrison was invited to join the families of Navy and Marine members at an event to "Honor our Future Heroes" at the Balboa Naval Hospital.

This event was organized by BH 734 Muhammed "Oz" Ozeroglu who works at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.

The event was a picnic/fair to give a fun day to families of those veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The children could get fingerprinted with ID Safe, received teddy bears and toys, could get their faces painted, get healthy snacks and drinks, play on an obstacle course, read with the Admiral of the hospital, play with the Fire engines and Police cars provided by the SD Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, and also have a chance to learn a little bit more about fitness and a healthy lifestyle. And of course, they got to see us!

We also had two separate groups go to different areas of the hospital to visit the recovering veteran's ward and the Pediatrics ward.

Special ops was represented by 3 troopers! (Out of 22 or so)

Lesley Farquhar (Special Ops Storm Commando)
Edgar Gallego (Special Ops Blackhole Stormtrooper)
Trevor Sovine (Special Ops Blackhole Stormtrooper)

Here's a pic...it's a big download...
