The suit looks GREAT! When you submit the pics to the Legion take the pauldron off. They don't like it. Ball all means wear if to every troop after, that is what I do. But BTW put the pauldron on the other shoulder. Oh and I love your Hyperfrim! Edited by SandyDay/SpecOpsNight, Mar 26 2009, 03:59 AM.

Thanks for looking. Unfortunately the photos that were submitted did have the pauldron in them. I think its been causing an uproar too oops. And thanks for telling me what side to wear the pauldron on, wasn't real sure on that one. I wish the BFG was mine, borrowed it from Jawaman for the photos. My own BFG is the next thing on my list to get.Maybe the detachment CO and XO can exert a little influence to have the approval moved along . I really didnt realize the pauldron would be a big deal or I would have left it out. Just wanted to show that I had one that meets the requirements in the CRL. And I know from the CRL that when wearing it and carrying the BFG, that I wouldnt have the drop boxes or thermal detonator on either, again just showing the full range of the uniform. I think it was getting late too and we wanted to get some pics in before sundown, since I had worked most of the day reworking the strapping for a better fit. Thanks, Jeff Edited by SkyGlider, Mar 26 2009, 04:13 AM.

My suggestion is to take new pics. Then it would be a quick and dirty process. Also I noticed you didn't have the black tube stips on the helmet. Where you going to put those on? Also, I keep my my thermal det and drop boxes on all the time. ps-I guess I did get my TX approved with the pauldron. I got grandfathered in after the change. The LMO doesn't want pics with the pauldrons now.

Thanks, I've just been active for a month. Got my TI approved, and just waiting to get the TX approved. My first official troop was the St. Patricks Parade in Denver, and it was a blast. Glad to be on board, looking forward to StarFest coming up in Denver next month, and many other troops that are starting to be scheduled. |

At this very moment we are trying to keep the pauldron official (it is present at the CRL approved by the previous LMO but the actual one is asking for visual licenced references and so far I have found none) So as the XO wrote before, take new pics without the pauldron, it will be easier and faster. |

I have tried and tried to find a reference photo with the pauldron with no avail. I guess my argument that it looks "killer" or "sweet" doesn't work for him. LOL

I would like to publically and officially apologize for the controvery which has started as a result of my inclusion of a shoulder pauldron in my approval photos. It was never my intention to have this happen. I wanted to show the range of options that I had available for this costume. My local squad members who helped me with the armor strapping and taking of the photos also thought it would be a good inclusion. I was going by what I thought was appropriate per the CRL for a TX. And I also looked at the "official" photos on the 501st Legion costume roster for the Special Ops troopers. There are at least 10 TX photos with members displaying a pauldron as part of their uniform. I felt that if official photos had this option approved item displayed, that photos for acceptance could have them as well. I sincerely hope I am not the cause of this detachment losing the privilege of wearing the shoulder pauldron as part of our uniform. I feel bad enough already to have been the cause of this controversy. Although this costume had been approved previously in the South Carolina garrison, it was missing some mandatory pieces. The bucket had no brow trim or tube stripes, which I have since applied. And the sniper knee plate was attached on the wrong calf piece, which I have fixed as well. I have tried to bring my armor in line with the requirements of the CRL. I have been very excited to have a chance to wear this armor on an official troop. Unfortunately that excitement has diminished over the past week. Now I just hope that it may get approved, but do not have high expectations here. And I feel that I have brought shame upon the SpecOps detachment. I apologize to the members of this fine detachment. Our CO is a member of my garrison, so this controversy hits close to home. And the XO and many other members have been extremely helpful in answering questions and giving advice. I sincerely hope that my photos for submission do not lead to a change in the CRL for this detachment. I am unsure as to whether or not I should contact the LMO about the matter. And I my contact my local GML and have him officially withdraw this submission for the time being, until I can get photos taken again without the pauldron. Thank you all for your support and understanding, Jeff Anderson TI-6897 and still hopeful TX |

Whoa! Pump the brakes man! There is NO controversy! You haven't brought anything negative at all on the Spec Ops Detachment. Seriously! Please for all of us, keep your excitement! We always need that type of trooper. All we are trying to do is get your TX approved the fastest way possible. I apologize to you on behalf of the detachment for thinking that you had to apologize to us. There is no need brother! Keep trooping and keep representing this Legion the way you always have, with honor and your head high. We will be honored to have you as a part of this detachment! Troop on bro! |

Jeff - No worries, mate! I really don't mind sticking up for any TX Det member and I backed you as well, both on the Legion boards with the LMO as well as the Garrison boards when our GML Bret asked me to look over your costume. You should be approved any day now, but since the LMO won't see sense from the LFL rank pauldron proof for high-ranking Stormtroopers, take the pauldron off and retake your pics. I'm not at all agreeing to the LMO's demands that all TX's retake their membership pics without pauldrons and resubmit them - he can bite my behind on that and I pretty much told him so on the Legion's Det Lead board. I would also urge each and every one of you to let your GCO/GXO know of this mandate of his and how much you disagree with it. You have nothing to worry about, my friend. I will always have my brother's backs here at the Det. ![]() Kev |
