Rocked my Shadow Scout at an event today, here's our MR copied for you review MISSION REPORT TYPE OF FUNCTION: YMCA sponsored event, promoting awareness and suggestions to make and keep children healthier in this day and age. WHAT WAS OUR ROLE AT THE FUNCTION: To help generate excitement for the event, entertain the kids and adult attendees, pose for pics and sign autograph cards. LOCATION: Princeton YMCA 59 Paul Robeson Place, Princeton, NJ 08540 MEMBERS ATTENDING: 1) Bro - TX 2) CJ - TB 3) Mike - TD 4) Scott - IO THE GOOD: Although we had two events going this day we were able to provide a couple great troopers with great costumes. It was important, as this was a new contact, and making a great first impression is crucial, especially when it's an organization like the YMCA that has branches all over the place. We had an awesome troop, and the organizers where extremely impressed and happy with our appearance. Hopefully this will open up doors with the YMCA organization down the road. We had the complete Event Station set up, and even though we were without a spotter things went smoothly and we all had a great time. The kids were well behaved and the parents were impressed, many stated they came soley based on the fact it was advertised we were appearing. We gave away our normal swag, and also used the nerf Clone blaster / target game which went over very well. Each child that participated in the blaster game was issued an Imperial Diploma personalized with their first name and signed by one of our troopers. THE BAD: This was a very smooth running event, the only bad thing is we didn't have a spotter. Scott showed up halfway through, after the Hospital visit, and it helped as he was in an Officer's uniform so he was able to assist as a spotter while in costume. THE UGLY: Ha, some of the blaster shots that went WAAAAAY off target, LOL. We had it set up so that there was little to no danger of hitting anyone if they missed, but it was still funny when the shots went 30 feet away and we had to run over to retrieve them...
