I have decided to concentrate on putting together my Vader Revenge of the Sith first. With that and the Han-In-Carbonite desk I'm working on, the wife has stated I must make a choice. Everyone has their "Emperor" they answer to. I believe it is an FX rig, but someone else that is more knowledgeable may correct me if I'm wrong. The suit has never been cut or removed from the scratch protection, as you can see from the pictures. Only the helmet was constructed and I did so using the Dave's Garage tutorial on YouTube. About a month ago when I decided I wanted to sell the suit, it was bothering me some of the divots that had been on the helmet from the cement. While I was at it, I decided to fix the gap between the two halves of the helmet that appears above the ear pieces, that is natural on the FX setup. Many decide to cut the brow trim to conform to the shape of the ear to hide this. That always bothered me. The "teeth" openings were also filed. The ear caps are in a baggy, as well as the aerators. They were placed there during the painting process. So, after repairing the divots, tightening up some of the "seams" that were visible, and the gap near the ears, I followed some FISD painting tutorials. The helmet received 3 coats of Kyrlon Fusion Gloss Black for the base coats, and then were followed by 3 coats of Rustoleum Professional Enamel Gloss Black. The results were an awesome shine! The set DOES NOT include: Eyebrow trim, Teeth Mesh, or helmet stickers. I was going to purchase a replacement set, but I figured someone might choose to go the route of painting the area where the stickers normally are located. I still have the original eyes. I had purcahsed the Silver Lenses from Captain Midnight on the 501st Spec Ops board, but there was a screw up in the process of trying to shape the lens to the mask, so the one got ruined. I didn't want to mess with the second one. It might be possible to use window tinting to repair the first mirrored lens. In any case, the purchaser will have the original Bubble Lenses that were never installed. The set also includes the holster for your E-11. So your armor came in black, and you got a white FX bucket and painted it black? The paint looks good btw. My kit came with a black bucket though. Seeing that all laid out reminds me that I don't want to do another TK, lol. Not a bad price though, considering the hardest part of the work on the bucket is already done. No, the bucket was originally black also. When I was using the tutorial, Dave's Garage, I ended up getting some of the cement on top of the dome which caused two divots. I also had a drop on the left portion of the nose, causing a divot. It wasn't too bad because it just made it look like battle damage after I polished it out, however it always nagged at me. Plus, I didn't like the way the brow had to be trimmed around the ear pieces to hide the gap between the front and back half of the dome. Not when the other stormies brow was cut short of the ear. So, I figured what the heck, I'm going to fix it. I went ahead and used bondo to repair the three divots. I then used the bondo to flush out that gap between the ears, so that now you would not even be able to tell it was there. While I was at it, I also used the bondo to clean up the gap between the top of the dome and the front/back half of the face mask. After that, I went and painted it using some ideas on the FISD. 3 coats of Krylon Fusion and 3 coats of the Rustoleum Pro Enamel came out awesome. In my opinion, the luster is better than it originally was.
