super steady shot. it's the anti shake mechanism in your camera.

for newer models, gotta disable it via the menu. for older models and higher ends, there's a switch on the body itself

my inspiration, my journey...
hi ndcai..urs is called the SSI (SuperSteadyInside). IMHO, some of ur pics seem a lil overexposed like #3..u might want to reduce the brightness a lil..i think this is because u used ISO400 from ur exif info..

as for myself, id use ISO100 since im using tripod thus i do not need high ISO to capture light and i suppose u are using one as well..also, image will have less noise..

composition wise i think i understand that ur trying to play with reflection in #4 but id prefer if the buildings were not "chopped off" as seen in the Marina Oriental and a lil bit of the Esplanade on the left. it is ok to take a bigger scene (loose composition) and crop later to for better composition. this will prevent you from losing any impt feature of ur subject(s).

it might help also knowing how much bigger ur picture will end up as the view from ur viewfinder on a330 if im not wrong is only 95% so what you see in the optical viewfinder might be a lil cropped.

hope my 10-cents' worth is of any help :) keep shooting!

Hi, SSS is to provide camera shaking compensation to give u a better sharper images.

SSS counteract hand shake with any lens you can mount on the camera with sensor shift mechanism.

But if camera is mounted on a stable tripod, it's recommanded to disable SSS. That would prevent camera from trying to “stabilize” an already steady camera, causing a feedback loop that results in less sharpness.
