Gresley FC invite applications for the newly created post of underwear untangler. This position has arisen this week as our supporters have got their knickers in a twist over Shepshed even more than normal. The job is full time hours and is initially on a temporary basis, although there is a good chance that it may lead on to a permanent role (especially after they read this) :)) . Allowances will be paid, if the applicant is prepared to deal with the apparel of our more generously proportioned supporters .

Applications in writing to the secretary, Gresley FC, The Moat Ground, Moat Street, Church Gresley, Swadlincote. Derbyshire. DE11 9RE.

We are an equal opportunities employer, although we are unable to accept any applications from the LE11 or LE12 postal districts.

Classic! :clapping:

I've just had a peep at their official forum and all their arguing amongst themselves is hilarious too - Rob Mansfield is deleting posts left, right and centre! :asleep:

Bloody hell Tebbs, my mate Walshy would have a field day with you, he calls me "Tiger Woods",due to the clubs I'm associated with.(most of which are league cricket teams), so God knows what he'd make of you.

Going bust probably means that they couldn't afford to fix the broken record at Gresley. I see that every time they fail to win, it's still the referee's fault. Every time! It's hilarious! :)) :))

And here's me thinking that they were going to win the league by Christmas. Ho, ho, ho. :dancing:

We equalised after the penalty was turned down. So, it would still have been 3-3 in all probability. In any case throwing away a 2 goal lead to go behind was our fault.

Having the league won by Christmas? Shows how good your judgement is.

You lot would be bored stiff without us, oh no sorry, you have that ever so heated thing with the other two members of the triangle don't you. Still, at least you still get over 100 every game (well, only just). :))

No way, Hateley  , is proved at a lot higher level than ours. Baldwin is a good goalkeeper  , but not in the same class as Hateley  . Agree we do conceede goals, but thats because we sometimes throw too many bodies forward :)) , instead of airing on the side of caution at times and holding a midfield player back to stop any opposing quick break away.
By no means time for panic :) :wall: , just a bit of fine tuning i think. :))

Phleeper - I see that your piece has prompted a Gresley director (Mark Evans' old buddy, Mark Alflat) to pen his own version on their official website. To be fair to him, it's nearly humorous:

Marcus

Fed up of the crowds?,want some space? time away from it all? Go and watch Shepshed.Stake your claim to a standing plot now before the rush.Once word spreads I am sure that all plots will be taken.Even better you can be part of your own disgruntled fans website (something we don't seem to have). That too would welcome new faces. It does suffer the drawback of filtering out the truth, recent examples accusations of posts being deleted "left right and centre.".one actually.. and us blaming the draw on the ref ..no we didn't.Better still is you ring up on the day they might even be able to find some hot food for your arrival .perfik!
One point of order however. Can we have a show of hands please? Are you a "disgruntled fan"? Yes or No?

Yeah me, I'm disgruntled at somebody nicking my ideas and producing an inferior copy. :(( . Oh well, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", or is it "for every Coke there's a Pepsi". The Ramones begat Jilted John, Nirvana spawned Nickleback. This all reminds me of the situation regarding the two local league teams where I live from about 20 years ago. Stoke were relegated and Vale were in a higher division. Stoke got higher gates, and the fans kept going on about it, this spawned tit for tat arguments over away followings , who'd got the most seats in their ground, and when it reached it's absurd conclusion, who'd got the most flags on tv at an England game in Poland. :( Local rivalry, don't you just love it. :asleep:
