I'd rather die while i'm living than live while i'm dead!

Okay, so I have been to the breeder and seen how she cares for the birds, and it is extremely clean. I've had lots of comments about how impressed many people were about the setup she has. So my question... how pertinent is a checkup and fecal when it's an only bird? Is it just a really good insurance type thing, or if the bird is defiantly coming from a clean, well kept breeder, is it not really necessary? I already found a good avian vet, they want $40 for the visit and $50 for the fecal. I'm planning on taking it in, just wondering now necessary it is. Thanks. Oh... also... when I bring the bird home... it's going to be about a 2 hour car ride. Should I just get a decent sized cardboard box to keep it from seeing all the changes and freaking it out, or I could take my sleep cage... what would you all recommend? |
