Birds can hide illnesses well, so it is probably a good idea to get him checked out. Try to find out if your breeder has a health guarentee. If the vet finds something wrong with your bird, such as a disease or birth defect, the breeder may give you a refund. Wow, that is really cheap for an avain exam! When I took Orrin in, they charged me over $100...it was cheaper to get my cats and horses vaccinated! Definately bring a smallish cage to bring your little conure home in. A dark scarey box is no place for a baby! Make sure to secure the cage in the car so it doesn't tip. I look forward to hearing more about your conure once he/she's come home!
