I started yesterday to draw a new playground for my birds and later on that day my bf went to the store to buy some material to make it..

He also went to IKEA and bought a table so we could get it up from the floor.

And then it was to late to drilling and knocking (since we live in apartment). So we started to make some toys. Suddenly it was 4am
But we had great help from Echo, dunno what we would do without his/her help :D

Great job, Cathy (and your BF..lol)!!! Posted Image

I'm sure your neighbors were happy you decided not to start drilling and hammering at 4am. I also like Echo's 'helping you' picture. Guess he was testing out the toys.

Ty.
Yeah i think my neighbours was very happy about that :D
Echo is a very nosy bird so he/she need to bite, taste and feel everything.
Yesterday he had to lick my halogen lamp and not only just one time.. But twice... And it was very hot, Echo just shaked his/her head and tried again.

Wow! thats awesome, it looks perfect! Ive been looking through the few ideas people have had for stuff like this and toys in general. I'm also a backyard craftsman kinda guy and was starting to make the basics for my conure. (ladders, small corner desk style playpens...all basicly just diff. sized dowels and what not. I do have a question though in regards to using products like large beeds and things like that (not necessarily meant for birds). Is there any way we should "prep" them for the birds before we let them play w/ them? Like boiling them in water to burn off germs or any kinda toxic factory substances? I dont know much about stuff like that so i figured i'd ask. Thanks for any info!

P.S....my jenday is almost fully weened and according to the breeder should be ready to come home in 2 weeks! Thanks again for all the help getting me ready for him! I'll post pics as soon as he comes home.

I dont know what beeds are :ashamed: but i dident do anything spes then wash the wood with green soap (think its called that over there) All the wood i used is all natural (raw). But u shouldnt use something that could be toxic. Toys with toxic paint or toxic glue.
To make colors u can use confectionery colors. Put a bowl with water and the color u want and let the wood stay there for a little while.
U can also use toys for baby's or paint for smal small kids. I know there isent any toxic in that.

Beads.. Maybe the mispelling confused you..

Beads are like the red and blue round things next to Echo.

Beads.. Yeah hihi aint always that easy when its not your own lingo :)
Well the beads that i got there with colors are from bird toys. So they aint toxic.
Yeah crude/raw wood is the best to use.
