WEB LINK: foragingahead.com

The july issue of Bird Talk came yesterday and they had a great article on sprouting seeds, beans etc.

They had a link to an online company called foraging ahead, they sell some pretty cool things, including sprouting kits.

The small kit is $9.95, comes with the jar, meshed lid, deed mix & instructions.
I thought it was a good link for first timers :)

save your money guys.
thru hard nosing around a simple cure for this is to watch your birds..!
sounds silly but its not...in the outdoor avairies we have noticed that the parrots like to crack seeds that have been soaked by the weather
so in saying this ...grab a scone or baking tray-line with seed, cover with water, place gladwrap (clingwrap) over top, place on window ledge and let the seed sprout.
uncover and give the birds a soft fresh tasty treat :D

I'll give that a try that Falcon! I have a glass jar with a cheese cloth lid and the air doesn't circulate enough so the sprouts rot by the second day. A cookie sheet makes more sense because the seeds wouldn't be piled on top of each other.
