Okay long story short my dusky breeding pair is having a rough start to there breeding season. The hen is being rough with her eggs I have removed two that where destroyed "They looked trampled". She is becoming more and more worried about her surrounding when my male is care free. We have not had a successful lay-to-hatch yet with them this year. I'm considering making some curtains to surround the cage, while leaving a full-spectrum lighting fixture above on a timer to isolate the two. Any Thoughts? Thank You Logan Kelsch Edited by duskydude, Jun 8 2009, 09:07 PM.

where is their breeding setup? I would add a couple of fake eggs to help keep her up off them a bit. what nesting material are you using? How many clutches has she had this year (broken) |

I have my breeder cages setup in my entertainment room " we are never in there just a 60" lcd tv and leather chairs :)" got an idea of where to buy quality fake eggs? Also I let them choose there nesting material, I supply Natural pine shavings, recycled bedding, or natural hay. she uses the pine and the bedding. She has failed two clutches this year. Thank You Logan |
