Although I couldn't find the exact plant on this list, many other plants of the NightShade family are listed as toxic plants on this site:

Looks like it's safe for human's to eat, but I've never heard of or seen it before either. I guess, if it were me, I wouldn't give any to my birds (just because I'm really not sure if it's safe for them or not). I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I agree with Mark !!

I would NOT feed this to my birds , i also have never heard of , or ever seen this before .

Not to mention , it looks absolutely TERRIBLE !

Keep it far away from your birds , thats the best advice i could give ya .

They taste very good. U can eat them as they are, on cheesecake, other cakes, fruit bowl and other things. It's rich on vitamins and healthy for humans. But since i havent found anything about if its safe to give to birds. I will not. I will be 100% sure before i give my baby's anything. They are afterall my baby's :)

It sounds like you are doing the responsible thing , i know that birds can be harmed from things we are not knowledgeable of . Thats why its better to be extra safe , then extra sorry !

I will have to try that physalis one time , and see what i think about it myself .

So true. Chocolate is fine for most of us, but not for birds. Same with caffeine (coffee/tea/Mountain Dew.. :D ).
