Indeed. Since Echo loves fruits and eat everything we give him. Its nice to try out new exotic/tropical fruits as long its 100% safe for the birds. |

I just learned something new from Mark ! I didnt know that chocolate was lethal for birds ( I would have never given them chocolate anyways ) , but it is great to know that it can be deadly . You never know if you have chocolate out somewhere in your house , and your bird is loose and mistakenly takes a bite of it . You could lose your loved one that way . Also i didnt know about the caffeine , coffee , tea , etc . I am very cautious when my birds are out , its usually in our master bedroom , and my daughters bedroom , i dont let them go near the kitchen usually because of the many DANGERS a kitchen can present to our birds ! Believe it or not , alot of people keep their cages in the kitchen ...... Go Figure !

Ground Cherry, Chinese lantern, Japanese lantern, Plha,Yellow Nightshade Groundcherry (Physalis crassifolia) - Unripe berries contain glycoalkaloid solanine which causes gastrointestinal distress. http://www.tgpa.com/Plants.html Edited by kiddo76, Aug 9 2009, 08:45 PM.

There's a catch. It says UNRIPE berries. so there apparently is a difference between ripe and unripe, but doesn't say. |

I myself , would never take a chance . Even if i knew exactly Ripe or Unripe , because that is really hard to fully determine that without using that stuff frequently . Keep it away from your birds , to ensure they stay completely safe ! Its not worth the risk ! |
