I have a green cheek conure named Cheeky who is housed in a avian adventure protage bird cage. My question is this a big enough cage or should I buy a bigger one and if its not big enough what cage would you reccomend? I live in Canada. He is in the cage when I am at work (10 hrs a day) but morning and night and weekends he is always out of his cage, in other words whenever I am home he is not in his cage. This is the cage he is in: http://www.birdscomfort.com/cage_protege.html |

Welcome to the forum Eva... for a starter cage for a green cheek conure, that seems ok. Books recomend smallest 24x16x20, and this one is 24x20x24 When coco was by himself, he had about the same sized cage, and was in it for about 5ish year (bad memory!) Just make sure the perches are placed so this tail moves freely There are "cage links" on the forum that have some really good sized larger cages with good bar spacing for good prices, and most include shipping so thats a bonus! |

Welcome to Conure Crazy Eva , The cage you have looks like a nice cage . I myself like a bigger cage size for the birds . I like the ones that are 34 x 24 x 34 .... This is a nice size for 1 bird , and there are even larger ones if you have the space , but again it all your preference . They have ones with the playstand / playgym built on the top of the cage also . Your cage looks like a good cage , so you can take a little time before you decide to upgrade .
