I buy most of the toys for my birds at the birds shows that i go to a couple of times a year. I seem to have fully resourced all of the toys around me. there is only a couple of pet shops and there all seem to stock the same toys. Online is good for place toys i have bought a few of them but the PP seems to knock the prices up quite a lot, unless you are buys multiple item. Making your own toys is a good idea as well as long as you use stuff that is parrot friendly. |

I buy some toys at the local PetSmart, plus I've bought them at various online places. I should do like Cathy does and buy the toy parts and make my own. Would be much less expensive. We do have a "How To" section on the forum too. Cathy made a great playground/stand, plus there's much more. Take a look: http://s11.zetaboards.com/Conure_Crazy/forum/18469/ |

I myself sometimes buy a few toys from the local Petco or Petsmart like Mark does . As long as you choose the right toys that are the safer ones . I love parrot pinatas , and my birds do too ... lol I also have purchased nice foraging toys from birdsupplies.com , some toys are really inexpensive , but some toys can get pricey too . All depends on what you want for your bird . I should start purchasing parts for toys , and start making my own to save some cash . Cathy and Jackie seem to like making their own toys which is really cool !

I hear you on making the toys, my husband swears that most places shop at Jo Ann's fabrics and Michaels, but it's the time... I don't have time (and I'm not crafty) lol... it's the shipping that gets me from the online places, one site wanted 50 bucks in shipping for an 11.00 dollar toy!!!! Nope, didn't but that one ! However, I have searched a lot of places, and when I buy my bird toys, it's usually three to five at a time ( I can hardly keep up with his beak)! By the way, galen says "hi" ( screech) he's sitting on my computer as i type this, he seems to know I'm typing about him! Goofybird |

Wow ... 50.00 to ship 1 toy , it must have been a typo on the website . I ordered a bunch of toys and my shipping was like 6.95 . Sometimes they make mistakes on the shipping amount , until you actually go to the checkout then you see the right amount ( Usually ... LOL ) . Also , you can find free shipping deals too . I always find deals . The local pet stores sell stuff relatively cheap , and they usually have decent stuff . Happy Toy Shopping

Hi, wow $50, that is insane. I usually do a lot of my bird shopping on line as well this is the site I like http://bird-paradise.biz/ and click on the online store or just go to mybirdstore.com it's the same site, they have everything all kinds of toy to toy making parts ( I like that I can buy all kinds of food from them from nuts to seeds to fruit to veggies in all kinds of sizes). They are reasonably priced and they are always running specials and have a lot of sale items, they usually send something free with your order(toy or food) and sometimes they have free shipping specials even to Alaska 99% of the time put together your and ship the same day you place it |
