Rice and beans recipe?

Does anyone have a good rice and beans recipe for our little conure friends?

We LOVE red or black beans and rice at our house but the boxed mixes are pretty high in sodium and I don't want to feed that to her. I would like to create my own mixture that has a similar flavor without all the salt.

Thanks!

Autumn

Thank you for the mix, Buuzbee. I hope my little nut-heads love it! I am looking for healthy yummies for them that taste good to them, won't break my wallet, and are healthy. Since I already had most of this on hand, I made up a quick batch this morning, cooking it tonight, and serving it tomorrow evening. I hope they like it!

You are welcome! i'm so glad he enjoyed it! and the great thing, the ingredients are so cheap, you can make a lot and freeze it! much better than the price of "birdie bread" mixes at the bird stores (not the same, but you get my point LOL)
