http://www.gatecon.com/ Gatecon makes its way home in 08 to Vancouver Canada for Gatecon : The Family Reuinion and Dan has been announced as a guest!!! Joining Dan at Gatecon 08 will be Andee Frizzle (Wraith Queen: Stargate Atlantis), Cliff Simon (Baal), Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn), Alex Zahara (many, many roles on Stargate), Gary Jones (Walter Harriman) and a special Guest of Gary's, Dean Haglund. I hope that I can get to Gatecon Vancouver. I really want to visit Vancouver, plus the guest list is amazing. And then there is the fact that Dan is on the guestlist  Anyone else thinking of going? Shelley :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: |

Shelley, it worked! I'm back on again...thank you very much for your help! *dancing and singing* WOOHOO, WOOHOO and WOOHOO! I'm going to Gatecon! What a great guest list...Dan, RDA, and the lastest addition Steve. August just seems too far off right now!  (I've missed this little frantic smilie!)

My flight leaves Philadelphia on Thursday, 8/21/08 at 6:20AM EST, leaves Toronto at 9:00AM and I arrive in Vancouver at 11:02AM. I went through my closet and put together some outfits but I won't actually pack until late Wednesday night. I've been checking out the weather in Vancouver and it has been pretty much the same as here. It does look like several days rain, but we'll have a great time either way! I can hardly wait! I'll take lots of pictures and try to get some posted as quickly as possible when I get back.   all at the same time! |

I had an absolutely amazing time at Gatecon!!!! As much as I hated to leave Vancouver, it was nice to get home and sleep in my own bed. I arrived home on Wednesday, 27 August. The highlight of the convention (at least for me) was: Attended Dan/Alex's charity auction, even though Dan wasn't able to be there for the auction itself because he was filming for Night at the Museum 2, but Alex took over and did a great job, everyone had a lot of laughs. I was lucky enough to win several items including a shooting schedule for SG-1 Ep The Fifth Man which was signed by five, and a set of 20 Star Wars Episode 1 lithographs in an absolutely beautiful metal box (which I gave to my nephew this weekend). The best part of all was winning a 15-minute photo shoot with Dan and Alex. The bidding was going back and forth between myself and someone in the front of the room. After my last bid, Alex said something about the two of us being at the convention together and why don't we just share it? That's when we realized that it was one of my roommates (Tracey/Writer997) and myself bidding against each other. We decided to share it like Alex suggested. What an experience the photo shoot was! We laughed sooooo hard the entire time! I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. If an opportunity like that ever comes up again, I would bid five times more than what I did. Our third roommate, Bird/Roberta took all the pictures with my camera, so there are tons of them and I will find time next week to start sharing the pictures. I'm in New York for the weekend, so I'm on limited time right now. I'll try to post more about Gatecon when I get back next week. Still smiling, ~Carolanne~
