| Why I am VERY UNHAPPY with Yahoo fan group | |

I am very unhappy after reading the email below that I received about joining the Yahoo fan group. I have no idea how they make their 'decision' about whom they choose to admit, but if they are going to deny someone, it only seems fair that they should give a reason why. Part of their email says, 'please note that this decision is final.' At this point, my decision is final also: I no longer care to be a member of such a group. They may be able to deny my membership and therefore I won't be able to attend the fan group meeting, but they have no control over my attending Gatecon nor were they any part of my reason for purchasing a ticket to Gatecon. The group's decision in no way affects my opinion of Dan. He's still a great guy and I'm looking forward to seeing him again. Carolanne~ Request to join DanPayneFans denied From: Yahoo! They denied you? How long had you been awaiting membership? Perhaps it had expired. I know sometimes it does after a certain amount of days. Shelley |

I applied either on the 24th or 25th of May. Everytime I tried to sign on it kept saying something like 'awaiting approval by...' After a few weeks I asked a friend who is already a member if she could check into the delay. I now understand that whoever is responsible had surgery and was unable to respond, hope she has a speedy recovery. I was just VERY surprised to get such an email, it makes no sense. No matter now, as my life, family, vacations and conventions will continue to be great without being a part of that group. I'm happy being a part of this forum and the Steve Bacic forum.

I find it very strange that you didnt get approved. I saw the post about it in the yahoo group. Dan even replied to it to see if he could help. I'm glad that you will still participate here. Hopefully more people will come and join in soon  Shelley |

I'll be going to Shore Leave 30, July 11-13 in Hunt Valley, MD and will definitely spread word of this forum while I'm there. I found out that someone else who is going to Gatecon was also just denied. We're going to have a FANTASTIC time there anyway! As I down a shot of Jameson's...Cheers....here's looking forward to seeing Dan again! |
