The maximum level caps for each age bracket are as follows:

  • Ghoul and Revenant characters have their Disciplines capped at level three. Ghouls have their maximum number of levels capped at six; Revenants have their maximum number of levels capped at eight. Those that learn Blood Magic have it capped at level one.

  • Neonate characters have all Disciplines capped at level five. Those with a single Discipline focus may increase it up to level six, but if they manage to do so their other Disciplines are capped at zero until they reach the next age bracket. Those with Blood Magic have their primary Path capped at level five, their secondary Path capped at four, and may only learn a third Path up to level two, if applicable.

  • Ancillae between the ages of 100 and 150 may increase one Discipline cap up to a maximum of level six. Those with a single Discipline focus may increase its cap up to level seven, but if they manage to do so their other Disciplines are capped at zero until they reach the next age bracket. Those with Blood Magic may learn a third Path up to level four and a fourth Path up to level two, if applicable.

  • Ancillae over the age of 150 may increase the cap for two Disciplines up to level six. Those with Blood Magic may learn a fourth Path up to level four, and up to level two in a fifth Path, if applicable.

  • Elders between the ages of 200 and 300 may increase the cap for all three Disciplines up to level six, or for one Discipline up to level seven and one Discipline up to level six. Those with a single Discipline focus may increase its cap up to level eight, but if they manage to do so their other Disciplines are capped at zero until they reach the next age bracket. Those with Blood Magic may learn their third Path up to level five, if applicable.

  • Elders between the ages of 300 and 500 may increase the cap for one Discipline up to level eight, or learn up to the first two levels of a fourth Discipline. Those with a single Discipline focus may now increase its cap up to level nine, but at this point they are banned from ever learning the first level in any other Discipline - they only have the one, permanently; alternatively, they may begin learning their other Disciplines appropriately. Those with Blood Magic may learn a fifth Path up to level four, and a sixth Path up to level two, if applicable.

  • Elders between the ages of 500 and 800 may increase the cap for two Disciplines up to level eight, or increase the cap for their fourth Discipline up to level four. Those with Blood Magic may learn their fourth Path up to level five, if applicable.

  • Elders over the age of 800 may increase the cap for all three Disciplines up to level eight, or increase the cap for their fourth Discipline up to level six. Those with a single Discipline focus may now increase its cap up to level ten. Those with Blood Magic may now learn their fifth and sixth Paths up to level five.

Just for the sake of clarity it should be pointed out that these figures only represent maximum potential. They in no way mean that characters of these age groups automatically get free levels. It simply becomes possible for a character to achieve these levels in any given Discipline depending upon age; it doesn't mean that any of a character's Disciplines suddenly rocket up as a birthday-gift.

If an Elder character doesn't rely on their Disciplines much, spends little time honing any of them, etc., then it's likely they may still have less total levels than the Neonate character that does. It's merely the theoretical potential that increases with age, not the powers themselves - characters have to work hard for those, as do the players writing them.

See the table below.
