The conference, ‘5th Leaders in Breast Care Meeting, Access to Quality Breast Cancer Care,’ was sponsored by Novartis Oncology and attended by breast cancer specialists, surgeons, research scientists, and numerous related experts from all over the world. Emily’s mother, Amy, addressed the conference with a speech supported by photographs. Amy said, “It was an unbelievable conference which we found to be informative and fascinating. It was also interesting to see how different cultures around the world deal with breast cancer.” Both Emily and Amy attended and participated in a workshop entitled “Quality in raising awareness and media coverage” monitored by Marc Hurlbert of the Avon Foundation. “Awareness is vitally important,” said Amy. “Attending a conference such as this reinforces the fact that something as insidious as breast cancer, knows no boundaries whatsoever. We are thrilled to have been part of this event.”
