Novice Posts: 127 Group: Members Member #44 Joined: January 30, 2007	OK, I'm back! Now that I've seen the broadcast I don't have to worry about spoilers. What did you all think? My predictions were pretty good for top 3. I guessed Kimmie / Fumie / Emily - With Fumie knocked out to injury, the placement was Kimmie / Emily. I wonder what Fumie would have gotten had she not gotten knocked out. 2nd would have been a very likely scenario, given the spread. Anyone have any details about what happened to Fumie beyond "neck sprain"? So, let's talk numbers. Joannie Rochette made 2 1/2 mistakes that were noticeable (2 popped jumps, 1 two-footed landing.) She was in first after the short, but I wasn't worried, because I KNEW she couldn't hold it together - I've never seen her do it against the Americans, and this time was no exception. Emily made NO real mistakes that we could see, except she said that she "missed some combinations." In the end, she JUST BARELY beat Joannie, by less than a point. And even with a popped jump, Kimmie was able to beat Emily handily. This is a recurring theme - even when Emily skates clean, which she has been doing lately, she still can't reach that top spot. It looks like she needs some upgrades in difficulty! Of course if Kimmie blew it, Emily would have won, but Kimmie is too adorable for me to want her to fail. Sarah was able to win Olympic gold through triple-triple combinations (7 triples total), terrific artistry, and a fair bit of luck. Now we're seeing Emily hit her stride, so hopefully she can keep this great consistency and get those triple-triples or triple-double-doubles that Kimmie seems to win on, and start claiming some golds of her own. Anyway, it was great to see Emily come through.
