As I mentioned in my "introduction" post, it was my discovery of two YouTube videos of Emily's performance at this year's Ice Chips show in Boston (www.icechips.org), on April 5th/6th, that absolutely captivated me and turned me into a fan. I think she looks utterly gorgeous in these videos, and I love her skating style. The Ice Chips event had a "Las Vegas" theme, so it's only natural that Emily skated to a Celine Dion number. The song is called "Taking Chances," viewable here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wzf_4uokG0&fmt=18 I also love Emily's costume in that number -- the most beautiful of any outfit she's ever worn for a performance, I think. Emily's second number for "Ice Chips" was her unique combination of Beethoven's Für Elise melded with the hip-hop song "Low." This is an extremely creative and original piece (for which Emily even included a costume change) and the only shame is that the YouTube video exclusively features the "Low" portion, not the opening. It's viewable here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te5UmC4s4eU&fmt=18 Exciting performances, both. Edited by kioewen, Aug 18 2008, 11:31 PM.
