Sure thing. Here's a very appreciative post about Emily at a forum that I really like, and lurk at, called "The Judgment of Paris." It's a size-acceptance forum devoted to combating the anorexic ideal that is imposed on women by the fashion industry. As a counter to this underweight standard, it celebrates the work of plus-size fashion models, and features Classical works of art to show that the ideal of feminine beauty was, in the past, curvier and more natural. The forum celebrated Emily as an antidote to the similarly underweight appearance of many figure skaters, and praised her for providing a refreshing alternative, as a skater with a visibly healthier figure: http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1384 The site gets a good amount of traffic (the Emily post has over 1,000 hits), so it could well bring in some new fans to figure skating, and create some Emily appreciation. |
