I feel for you, but I'm sure you'll have a good time. You're an avid fan of skating in general, so you'll surely like what you see at Nationals.

For me, Emily is specifically the performer who brought me in, and while I've come to admire a few skaters in the past (Lisa Ervin, and now, looking back, Nancy Kerrigan), Emily is still the only current performer with whom I really connect.

I just desperately want to see her skate again. If she has the time, I would love to see her do some exhibitions -- as she did Skating for Life last year. In a show environment, she can perform without competition pressures and build up her confidence, to help her get ready for when she feel ready to compete again.

I don't know whether she'd want to take a year off school to get into the swing of it again, but school will always be there. I interrupted my Masters and came back to finish it after an interval of several years. I'm sure Harvard would comply if Emily were to take a year off -- if it's what she wants.

But more than anything, I just hope she gets better. It's so sad to think of her being injured.
