On Golden Skate Forum several posters attended and commented on the performances. It seems to have been a success with the highlight performances coming from MacLaughlin/Brubaker and Rachael Flatt. M&B apparently wowed the crowd with their spectacular lifts and throws. She is fearless.

It seems that Emily is still having trouble with her jumps, unfortunately. But she still has a few months to get the timing and the rotations down before her first competition at Regionals. Jumps aside it seems that she did well for the rest of her program. What music did she use?

The best part of these shows is the end when the skaters stay to greet the fans and give autographs at the boards. One of our posters here got Emily's autograph.

I'm going to look for more reviews on some other sites.

To put this all lin perspective, I just wanted to jot down a bit of information to tweak the memory of longtime skating fans and to bring newer fans up to date.

Skate for Hope is held to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Emily Hughes is very much involved in events involving breast cancer research. As an eight year old, Emily watched her mother fight a battle against breast cancer. Her mammoth struggle made a huge impact on her children. To this day Sarah and Emily are both involved in different ways in the various charities that target research in breast cancer.

So every year, skating fans look forward to seeing Emily skate in Skate for Hope and their rousing cheers are for Emily and even more so for her mother who is one of the most famous breast cancer survivors in this country. May she have a long and healthy life. Amy Hughes is an amazing woman.
