Here's something interesting. When I read the recent praise of Emily's curvy figure at a fashion site, I mused to myself how interesting it would be if she ever got the opportunity to do some sort of fashion layouts. Heaven knows she has a much better figure for it than any other skater (although she was even shapelier earlier this year). Well, Emily's official site now notes that Emily has now actually done a little modelling. She appears in a skating-costume catalogue called "Elegance on Ice."Here's the link to the catalogue: http://www.apparel-ice-skating.com/ and here she is in a gorgeous white costume. It reminds me of her Ice Chips outfit, except in white. I'd love to see her skate in this. I think white is the very best colour for her. ![]() As a styling tip, what the catalogue should have done is offer front- and reverse-view pictures as well, in addition to this side view, to give a 360-degree sense of the costume, and to show the design of the back (hopefully open). But still, it's a terrific picture. Emily is a natural model. There are several pages from the catalogue posted at a high resolution on Emily's site: http://www.emilyhughes.com/gallery/album/502 I'd love to see her do more modelling in the future - skating-oriented or otherwise. Aha, so there is a front view as well (no reverse view, though). You can find the images in the Elegance on Ice online store, including a full-length that shows off Emily's great legs. Nice pose, too -- as I said, she's a natural when it comes to modelling.![]() Emily's white costume is in the "Affairs of the Heart" section: http://www.apparel-ice-skating.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=28 Personally, I think some clever retailer should market a whole Emily Hughes line of skating outfits. What young girl wouldn't want to adopt the dress of Emily, her idol? |

I am a bit prejudiced against white clothing (as I look TERRIBLE in it), but I do like her look in white. Although for that dress, I think she would look far better with a different hairstyle. Maybe her old one with the ponytail, or maybe something a little more styled/less flat. I do like the white better than some colors she has chosen, but not all. Let me try to rank them (lol) Black (as in your avatar) Maroon ('06/'07?) White Red Lt Blue others I'm really not sure of those rankings, but I definitely think black is best for her, of the ones I remember seeing.

Oh, yes, yes, yes. Definitely. The most important thing would be for her to grow her hair longer. Then, almost any style would work. The ponytail would be great. Or, since this is a fashion picture not a shot of her skating, she coud have a romantic hairdo with a lot of body. I definitely agree. I do see what you mean about black, but I'm partial to black only in that particular Ice Chips outfit (the one in my avatar). The other black outfits, not so much. Maybe it's just because I liked her look at that Ice Chips show so very much. I do think she would look great in white. Actually, when it comes to real colours (not white or black), I like her red dress best -- the one she had at last year's "Skate for Hope" show (which I didn't see): ![]() The powerful colour suits her look and style. I'm tempted to buy the DVD of that show, just to see how Emily looked in that dress (although she didn't quite yet have her amazing figure from earlier this year).
