Well, a month has passed, and now, perhaps naively, I've come back here, still hoping that maybe, just maybe, this forum can be a positive place for Emily enthusiasm, and that everyone can have the humility not to turn threads into opportunities to show off their oh-so-amazing skating knowledge and post negative comments, but instead simply celebrate Emily and her skating.

After all, it's the Emily Hughes Forum. Why join a forum just to criticize the person the forum is about?

With that in mind, here's something that happened over the past month, accoring to an article at EmilyHughes.com:

Emily will be skating in Spotlight on Frog Pond Ice Skating Exhibition
March 04th, 2009

Emily will be skating in Spotlight on Frog Pond Ice Skating Exhibition on Saturday, March 7th, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.. The event, hosted by Frog Pond Skating School in Boston at Boston Common Frog Pond (They seem to be fond of frogs in Boston!) is sanctioned by the Skating Club of Boston.

Appearing with Emily will be Yasmin Siraj, Christopher Hernandes, Layla Siraj and an exciting assortment of Frog Pond Skating School students of all levels. Look for up-and-coming young skating stars including national and international competitors from the Boston area.

Check out the poster in Emily’s Charity & Appearances folder in her gallery as well the Frog Pond Skating School website at: (www.bostoncommonfrogpond.org/skating_school.htm).

Are we thrilled to see Emily back in action, or what?

The answer to that last question is yes!

It's a shame to have missed this, but I hope it went well. I wish there were images or a video of the event. Those Frog Pond students were so lucky to get to see a rare appearance by Emily. I'm sure they were thrilled.

In the Ice Chips 2009 notice at EmilyHughes.com, the following is noted:

Reports are that Emily’s appearance in the Frog Pong Skating Show was wonderful. Emilyhughes.com is trying to score some photos.

I hope they do get some photos! I wonder what kind of costume Emily wore? This sounds like it was a wonderfully intimate event.

Sorry to hear that you think you've been naive about this board. In reality I think you've been confused and misinformed about the distinction between a fan page and a forum.

In a fan page, posters usually write "feel good" posts about their favorite skater.

A Forum is more wide ranging. Historically a forum is a place to exchange information and to have meaningful discussion and debate about topics relevant to the subject .

As a Forum, this board is dead, it seems to have run its course. So I'm officaly quitting this board and joining those other erstwhile fans who have gone to other boards to seek out meaningful discussions about Emily. Meanwhile, I presume, the monologue about curves and thighs will continue here.

Sorry you had so little interest in discussion and debate
