Ice Chips Show of Champions 2009
March 12th, 2009

Next on Emily’s appearance calendar is the Ice Chips Show of Champions 2009 on Saturday, April 4th at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM and Sunday, April 5th at 3:00 PM.

Hosted by the Skating Club of Boston, celebrating their 97th anniversary, the Ice Chips Show is the longest, continuous club skating carnival in the world. A wealth of information about the 2009 show can be found at www.icechips.org – performers, times, pictures, ticket information and more.

Mark your calendars for another fantastic event.

Reports are that Emily’s appearance in the Frog Pong Skating Show was wonderful. Emilyhughes.com is trying to score some photos. To listen to the music for Emily’s show program by U2 and Mary J. Blige, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be0j4PbrQOI.

There is also a rumor that Emily has been increasing her training intensity to include jumps. Say tuned!!

Emily's gorgeous performances at Ice Chips last year were what got me interested in skating in the first place, so I'm thrilled that this is happening.

As for jumps, I'll be happy either way. If she feels more comfortable taking it easy on jumps, that's okay. Her skating style is a dream to watch, jumps or not.

Interesting that she's choosing modern music for one of her routines. Last year's Ice Chips show had Emily do two numbers, one of which was more modern ("Low") and one of which was more melodic ("Taking Chances"). I hope Emily does two numbers this year as well. If so, I wonder what the music for the second routine might be?
