Here are videos of Emily's two performances at Lake Placid. I'm afraid that Emily must have been having an off day. She looks extremely thin, and the weight loss has hurt her jumping. Here is the first, to the U2/Mary J Blige medley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s1xGY4q9m4&fmt=18 And here is a one-time-only performance to a Michael Jackson song. It's nice, but she falls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayKstcqtOuw&fmt=18 Again, the costumes are disappointing -- track pants, not dresses. Has the anorexia-pushing of the skating world finally gotten to Emily and given her a body complex? I hope not. But it's hard not to think so. She used to be so confident about her appearance, particularly when she was fuller-figured. The same problem exists now as before -- the jumping. It just isn't there. As recently as Ice Chips 2008, when she was much curvier, she was still jumping well. Something has happened in the interim, and the weight loss is most definitely not helping. It's clearly hurting. I'd hate to think so, but it looks like the Lisa Ervin situation again. All the energy appears to be focussed on weight loss, not on skating. It's another case where the skating world's absurd pressure to be thin is having a ruinous effect on a skater. That's what makes it so hard to like this sport -- fans who have a distorted view of the female figure, and would rather skaters be thin than healthy. Edited by kioewen, Jul 7 2009, 03:28 AM.

What is up with all of the pants lately? She doesn't seem to wear skirts anymore. Does she have a tattoo on her leg or butt that she is trying to hide? And is the audience on all the camera side? There is clearly applause but it doesn't look like anyone is seated in the stands. As for the MJ tribute, that fall was more awkward looking that most skating falls.
