Olympian Posts: 1,628 Group: Members Member #29 Joined: December 7, 2006	What are some tragic things that have happened in your lifetime? It doesn' have to be about skating. When I was a freshman in High School, my mother, sister, and my mother's friend were in a car going to look at houses when they skidded out of control and crashed. It was pouring snow and we school was cancelled. My mother and her friend died and my sister broke her femur and her thumb and had to get rods in her legs. I wrote about this in my letter that I wrote to Emily Hughes, except I went more in-depth in the letter than I did in this post. (Mod edit: Please do not double post.)

Administrator Posts: 3,003 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: October 31, 2006	I've lost several family members as well as some pets. I've also had some family members involved in accidents recently. Luckily, they didn't get seriously injured. It's sad but these things happen to everyone unfortunately.

And I remember when it happened I wasn't really that upset because I never knew her. She lived in Germany and I never got the chance to meet her. I think she visited when I was a year old but I don't remember that at all. That is why I am so close with my grandparents on my mom's side. They are only a half hour away and I love them to pieces. I can't imagine them not being here. I know they will but it will just be weird without them.
