Here's the rest of my Campbells Cup 2006 Emily pics. (I have about 400 more non-Emily pics :D ) I made a new thread, cause I had named the old one "1-20" and couldn't fix that. Again, hope this is OK. I did put a 56K warning anyway.

Somehow my shots of Emily came out far better than all the other skaters. I think I got some pretty good positions too. I felt a little embarrassed at having so many of her, but on this forum I don't! Well, enjoy!

Pics 21-40: (The rest of the free skate, primarily)

Sorry, I accidentally left the editing of topics and descriptions disabled. I've enabled it now.

Thanks for including the 56k warning. :thumb:

Thanks. The world premiere of (some of) my Campbells pics! Glad people can finally see them. It was a pocket digicam (Fujifilm F30), which is a very good all-purpose pocket-sized cam, but nothing like some of the giant DSLRs some people had there. Unless you have a giant camera, you don't have the aperture, so it's a constant battle dealing with focus / motion blur / ISO grain. Most of them I wish could be clearer, but I think this is about the limit of a pocket cam. Hopefully I can get more skilled with the settings though. My camera was able to focus a little better on Emily I think because of her dress, so her stuff turned out a little better. Evan for instance was wearing mostly black, so those were a big struggle. The ladies warmups were such a thrill, talk about overload. I couldn't snap fast enough! My favorite is the one with Emily in the foreground right and Sasha in the background left, both with nice poses, but unfortunately that's another one that wasn't as sharp as I'd like.

Maybe I'll get around to webifying the rest sometime. Since they are non-Emily I could just post a link or something... oh darn, I just can't resist posting "Kimmie and the Monkey!" :D

She has a lucky monkey? All I know is it was thrown by a fan at Campbells 2006. You can see her playing with it on the broadcast also... it was just cool because it was thrown more or less right in front of me, so it allowed me a nice close up shot. B) Anyway, I heard they give their stuffed animals to charity, BUT that some of them collect a few. I always wondered which ones got kept...

INCREDIBLE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know they let people take cameras and take pictures. MOST sports events BAN all FLASH and even some video cams... only media can take pics at many events...

Thanks fanofgold. I'm glad I got to finally share them. I was going to share them on the Michelle Kwan Forum, but got banned for defending skaters like Emily, against a lot of people's evil, hateful statements. If you go there even now and look at what they say about Emily (and many others), it's absolutely appalling (I just checked again.) Partly cause her sister Sarah "robbed" Michelle of her last chance of gold, but mainly because many posters there are just plain rotten people. I feel so bad for the average skating fan on the net, who has to deal with forums filled with negative people, who are there just to tear skaters down. This is a great forum, and I hope activity will pick up here with Emily's recent consistency, and rise to National/4CC silver status. And I hope we can keep the positive vibe, even with more users.

For cameras - they really are NOT very clear on policies! The US Bank Arena's webpage had implied or said that cameras were not allowed at all. The USFSA website stated policy was/is that only disposable cameras are allowed for events (this is probably to prevent professional photos from being sold.) When I got to the venue, the actual policy was: No video recording. That was it. Being in a foreign city, with no safety net, I don't know what I would have done if my camera wasn't allowed in. I play it safe by keeping it pocket-sized, so if the worst happens, I can hopefully at least smuggle it in and not use it. The guy next to me had an ENORMOUS professional camera, with PILES of film. I would never take that kind of risk though, of missing the event if I couldn't get in.

As for the pics - I'm a perfectionist, and I was pretty critical of them to begin with. I guess you always want more than you have. Anyway, they're actually quite nice, certainly the web-sized versions anyway. And Emily's came out the best. :D I've yet to get around to doing the other 400 or so non-Emily pics, as well as getting any prints...
