Emily was beautiful and excited in her red dress at the US Nats EXHIBITION that I taped and finally saw. And what a LOVELY song, "I Belive." Emily: I Believe. Her 4 Continents performance was POWERFUL and I think she did more than Kimmie. And Kimmie was way behind and won by alot. I just didn't see where KIMMIE made up that many points?...yes KM is lovely on ice and very smooth versus the powerful athletic awesome Emily. I am still trying to figure out the scoring system. EMILY has the highest jumps, highest SPLITS, most athletic, and raw speed most of the times, so in my mind while her landings may not be as soft as KM, still Emily is right up there with everyone and even jumps HIGHER than some men! |

Frustrating, isn't it? They need to start showing the breakdowns for the top scores. I'm guessing Kimmie's dominance is based on difficulty, rather than favoritism. But I'd like to know exactly where. For 4CC, Emily said "she missed some combinations." I wonder what would have happened if she had hit them all. |

The reason that Kimmie won is because she had the triple-triple and she did more combinations than Emily. Emily didn't do any combinations at Four Continents and that put her behind Kimmie. I see why Kimmie won because she had that. If Emily had done combinations she may have beaten Kimmie. But in the new system if a skater performs a triple lutz twice one of those triple lutzes has to be in combination. Emily performed two triple lutzes and points were deducted for her doing two and not having one in combination. That also happened with her triple flip. That is why I'm guessing Kimmie got higher marks. |

Do you think they don't tell us stuff like this during the broadcast because they don't know, or because they don't want to bother? |

I usually envision the broadcasters as people that are given a list of things to say by the producers that they likely would not have stated otherwise. In short, I don't think they know... |

Were you watching the time that we saw a side-by-side breakdown of 2 ladies' component scores? I wish I remembered what competition that was. Seems like around a year ago. They had the graphics for it and everything. We're suffering enough for this new scoring system, the least they could do is maybe reap some of its benefits for the viewers' sake. As it is now, I feel almost as in the dark about the reasons for the results, as under 6.0... I need someone at USFSA to complain to.
